From 26th-29th September '24, Sappho for Equality conducted its transformative four-day residential workshop — #MonerPathshala-III, bringing together Mental Health Professionals from across West Bengal. This gathering was not just an event; it served as a powerful platform for intense dialogue and deep engagement with the lived experiences of trans and queer individuals. Through this collaborative exploration, we created a space to cultivate a Trans Queer Affirmative Lens for mental health practice. This holistic experience was enriching, emphasizing the importance of understanding one’s position as a community ally. Recognizing this role is essential in fostering empathy and crafting mental health care that is genuinely affirming and supportive. Together, we aim for a more inclusive and compassionate mental health landscape, where every trans - queer individual feels seen, valued, and empowered in their journey.
