Talk timber with us! Join us for an engaging discussion on how mass timber—large, engineered wood materials—is transforming sustainable construction. Discover how these innovations allow us to build taller and more efficiently while promoting forest conservation and reforestation. Plus, enjoy games, prizes, and beer! You’ll also learn how our new neighbors, Lilypad Solar Boats, are applying circular economy principles and using locally sourced Black Locust for their marine wood decking. Guest Speakers: Sandra Lupien, Director of Mass Timber at MSU, and Dana Lowell, CEO of Lilypad Labs. “Using huge engineered wood construction materials – mass timber – enables us to build big buildings from a renewable resource more efficiently, more sustainably, and more beautifully. With mass timber, we create buildings that actually store carbon, and can benefit rural economies and create incentives to plant more trees.” – Sandra Lupien Healthy forests, healthy waters, healthy habitats. Get on board, Michiganders! Join the restoration rodeo and sip this bright, easy-drinking American IPA for a cause. Here’s to protecting and restoring our beautiful backyard!
Our Office of Public Lands is proud to be collaborating with a local Michigan business to protect the natural landscapes that mean so much to us as Michiganders. Saugatuck Brewing Company created the Rainbow Rodeo IPA to shine a light on Michigan’s fly-fishing reputation, and now it’s working to protect just that. This partnership with SBC helps raise awareness and funding for statewide aquatic habitat restoration, stream health evaluations and invasive species control. The partnership runs through October and purchases of this IPA will raise funds for these vital projects.

One year ago, our team introduced Rainbow Rodeo IPA on the day of the trout opener. Today, she embarks on a new journey fueled by purpose and passion. This wouldn't be possible without the dedication and hard work of our entire team at Saugatuck Brewing Company and the eagerness of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to shake it up, giving us an opportunity to make an impact with the help of our distributors and consumers. Our partnership with the DNR runs from May to October, and whether you are enjoying a pint at your favorite watering hole or grabbing a case from your local grocer, you're sipping for a cause. Money generated from every drop sold will support habitat restoration and the vital work of the DNR team. Together, we're making a difference—one sip at a time. Make an additional contribution by texting RODEO to 80888 #restorationrodeo Our CEO, John H. Miller sits down with @woodradio to talk more about the program! Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gDWuR9rw
