On September 19, we held our 4th Annual NICU Health & Equity Summit in partnership with Children's Hospital New Orleans. The theme of the day was, “Milk is Medicine” and thanks to the generous support from Prolacta BioScience & Mother's Milk Bank of Louisiana, we were able to host over 200 people, both in person and virtually, spanning the globe not to mention our tenacious community of legislators, healthcare providers, and NICU families! Many thanks to Aunchalee Palmquist, PhD, MA, IBCLC and Mark W. Kline, MD for kicking us off for a great day or community advocacy!

We had the pleasure of joining TrainingGrounds Inc. for Party Bus for a Purpose! This family-centered event provided vital resources for infant feeding, emergency preparedness, and programming! Of course our very own, Sophia Rosenblatt came through with new books for each child! #EarlyLiteracy #CommunityPartner Geaux Far Louisiana

ABHLA is always honored support Saul's Light Foundation and its mission to support NICU babies and their families. Thank you Judy Houston for representing ABHLA so well.
NICU awareness month is celebrated in September to raise awareness and support for patients, families and staff in neonatal intensive care units. Saul's Light is a New Orleans-based nonprofit that provides support and community to families with babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and Bereavement support. The organization held its annual NICU Health & Equity Summit with the topic Milk is Medicine. ABHLA is proud to be a part of investing in health equity for Louisiana babies and families by being a sponsor. This was a phenomenal summit with lots of engagement with the panel discussions. Great job to the moderators and speakers! Thank You Kimberly Novod, MPA for the incredible work you do! What a wonderful way to honor your little one! Kudos to my Louisiana WIC PC family on your efforts in increasing the Breastfeeding rates in Louisiana! #AetnaCares Jess Hall NIKESHA RODRIGUE Sonya Nelson

What a beautiful way to kick off #NICU Awareness Month than to share this moment with Matthew Broussard, his family, and our community of NICU families 💛
From a tiny NICU preemie weighing just 1 pound, 9 ounces, to a dedicated Ochsner employee and proud husband and father, Matthew Broussard’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Born in August 1978, 14 weeks early, Matt defied the odds thanks to the expert and compassionate care provided to him by Ochsner’s NICU team. This August, Matt returned to Ochsner Baptist’s NICU with his family and Ochsner partner Saul's Light Foundation to celebrate his 46th birthday, reflecting on his incredible journey and the advances in neonatal care that continue to save lives today. His story is one of hope, resilience and the expert care provided at Ochsner. Matt said, “The NICU is where I got my start in life. I have realized that without the outstanding doctors, nurses and staff in the NICU, I would not be where I am today without them. So, if I can help other children and families starting out in life as I did, I will do that!” Read Matt’s full story: https://lnkd.in/g7RzhBF8
