#OSHA recently recognized Savage as a Beat the Heat winner for our efforts to keep Team Members safe in the summer heat!   Team Members submitted how they were watching out for and protecting others from the summer heat as part of the SH&E team's #BeattheHeatWeek this year. Two of these entries were submitted for the OSHA award: the cool-down station at Savage's Beaumont, TX operation and the air-conditioned tent at Bartlett Cherryvale, KS. We are pleased to celebrate with the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association the Fiscal Year 2023 and 2024 Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvement (CRISI) grant awards.   Among other programs, this year's CRISI grant will enable Savage to install Wi-Tronix devices in our locomotives to provide real-time vehicle data for safe and #sustainable #railservices.   "Short line freight railroads are the first- and last-mile service connections for thousands of industrial, manufacturing, energy, and agricultural shippers across America – particularly in small towns and rural communities.
