We rescue perishable food from local businesses and deliver it same-day, for free to nonprofits who feed the hungry!
About us
Saving Grace bridges the gap between two of Omaha’s greatest needs: the need to rescue an overabundance of perishable and prepared foods, and the need to feed those in our community who go hungry and are malnourished. Saving Grace is a nonprofit food rescue and delivery agency that picks up donated perishable food in refrigerated trucks from heartland restaurants, caterers, cafeterias, grocery stores, delis and food distributors. Saving Grace does not warehouse food, but delivers it same-day, fresh and free of charge to nonprofit agencies that serve families in need. Local organizations that benefit from our service include pantries, missions, after-school programs, daycare centers, senior centers and churches. These agencies are able to use funds previously allocated to food costs toward other support services. Our donated perishable and prepared foods provide needed produce, protein and dairy to some of our communities most challenged children, seniors and families. Our service is one solution to our community’s food waste and hunger issues. We need your help! Please help us feed the hungry by rescuing the heartland’s bounty that would otherwise go to waste!

Today marks the 5th Annual International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, a reminder of how important it is to reduce food waste for the health of our communities and our planet. Although the world produces enough food to feed everyone, millions still face hunger and malnutrition. At Saving Grace, we’re doing our part by rescuing excess nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it to local nonprofits that use it to feed those in need. Together, we can reduce food waste and help fight hunger in our community!

This Fourth of July, let's remember the power of coming together to make a difference. By reducing food waste and fighting hunger, we're creating a stronger, more united community. Enjoy the fireworks, family, and festivities, and let's keep the spirit of giving alive!

A huge thank you to Jams Restaurant for donating nearly 2,000 lbs of healthy perishable food to Saving Grace! With their Legacy location currently closing and their Old Market location affected by recent flooding, they chose to make a difference by donating the food instead of letting it go to waste. We're grateful for their support and for remembering that Saving Grace can redistribute food to local nonprofits when unexpected events arise. Together, we're fighting food waste and helping those in need!
