Did you know that Myers’s Dark Rum is the original dark rum of the Mai Tai? Created in 1944 by Trader Vic and brought to fame in Hawaii, the first-recorded Mai Tai recipe in 1956 by Trader Vic himself includes Myers’s as an ingredient. This #NationalRumDay, we’re mixing things up with a “My” Tai, our own take on the classic. Myers’s “My” Tai: ¾oz Myers’s Dark Rum 1¼ oz white rum 1 oz lime juice ½ oz curacao orange liqueur Heavy ¼ oz simple syrup Heavy ¼ oz orgeat Combine all ingredients in rocks glass and add ice.
