About us

With over 30 years of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and human resources practitioner experience, the Schabel Solutions team knows what it takes to develop and implement effective DEI programs. We’ve done this work as employees of large organizations. We’ve successfully overcome internal barriers to executive buy in, resourcing, developing and sustaining DEI programs. Since 2016, we’ve been leveraging our experience and expertise as a strategic DEI consulting partner helping other organizations develop and implement innovative diversity and inclusion programs to build more collaborative, engaged and productive workplaces and workforces. More specifically, our solutions help our clients build the strategies, confidence, skills, normalized inclusive behaviors and workplace cultures needed to address the dangers of unmitigated unconscious bias, untapped talent, missed market opportunities and stagnant innovation. How we do it: We use our signature framework and people centric tools to deliver innovative and customizable DEI consulting, DEI training, DEI presenting and DEI coaching services to our many business, education, government and not-for-profit clients. More precisely, we: Design and deliver customized and engaging DEI trainings and DEI presentations (Global conference speaking experiences include the 2020 SHRM Inclusion Conference and 2019 RSA Conference.) Develop customized diversity and inclusion strategies. Generate customized employee attraction and retention strategies. Design and conduct organizational culture audits and equity audits. Provide executive and team DEI coaching. Design customized supplier diversity programs. Consult on sustainable employee engagement programming and DEI best practices. Develop effective good faith efforts for affirmative action programs (AAPs) and equal employment opportunity (EEO) initiatives.     Many organizations want to make progress on overall organizational goals through advancing diversity, equity and inclusion but get stuck on effectively demonstrating the impact of their practical DEI efforts – and this is what executives want to see at the end of the day. It's Q4. Execs are beginning to ask: what did we achieve with our DEI investments in 2024? What was our DEI ROI? If your organization is required to track and report Affirmative Action results to the Federal Department of Labor (OFCCP) and report annual data to the EEOC and VETS, you, and your execs, have even more reasons (compliance and legal risk mitigation) to get this done right.     What gets funded and measured gets done. It’s 2025 budget-setting season for many businesses. And, budgets should always support organizational strategy. If practical DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) is embedded into your organization’s overall strategy, allocate funds to make sure that you can execute your DEI initiatives effectively – helping you achieve and sustain your overall workforce, workplace and marketplace/community goals.     We enjoyed attending and exhibiting at this week's 45th Annual United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) National Conference in Kansas City. This year’s conference, the 45th iteration, provided informational sessions focused on strengthening and growing small businesses, networking and advocating as one unified voice for the country's more than five million Hispanic-owned businesses. It's clear, the U.S. Latino economy is very strong, is growing rapidly (see photo) - and cannot be ignored. What a great way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! One of the common themes at the event was clear to everyone present: diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) remain front and center for forward-thinking organizations of all sizes and industries seeking to support all communities and thrive long-term. Yes. As we’ve been communicating to clients and the public for years, the business case for advancing DEI is clear and will remain so. That ship has sailed.     This insightful data specifically relates to Omaha but the results mirror what we see across the country: young professionals overwhelmingly support advancing DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) in the workplace. As we’ve communicated before, organizations need to advance DEI in a thoughtful manner to achieve their overall goals long-term, including attraction and retention of talent. In Omaha, 690 young professionals were loud and clear about their support for DEI in 2024:  ·      93% agree that focusing on DEI in the workplace is a good thing. ·      92% stated that they actively advocate for DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) in their workplaces. Unfortunately, “31% of respondents also reported experiencing discrimination or unfair treatment by an employer because of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or physical or mental illness.” Inclusion and equity continue to be critical drivers of employee engagement and retention. And, it is not enough to assume, without evidence, that your organization is on the right track regarding the state of your workforce and workplace.     In line with authoritative research, many organizations see advancing DEI as a competitive advantage and a means of achieving organization-wide workforce, workplace and marketplace/community goals.
