Groundbreaking ceremony for the Panorama Constance! Soon a 50-metre-high building will enrich the cityscape on Lake Constance. The new building will display a 360-degree artwork by studio asisi and offer additional space for exhibitions or other events as well as a restaurant with a surrounding terrace. Together with the architects from Sauerbruch Hutton, #sbp designed the new hybrid #timber structure. Now that the first foundation stone has been placed, construction will progress rapidly. The slipforming of the building core will start as early as next week so that the full height of the tower will soon be visible. We are looking forward to this milestone! We couldn't be more excited! Williams Crossing in Tulsa, Oklahoma is now officially open to the public. The festivities kicked off last Friday with a #BigDamParty for the community hosted by Gathering Place to celebrate the grand opening of the transformed Zink Dam and Arkansas River waterfront. Designed by #sbp, this new symbol for Tulsa provides pedestrian and cycle connections to Gathering Place, an immense park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. sbp and MVVA collaborated closely on the design of the bridge to integrate it into the park landscape for a seamless user experience between the east and west banks of the river. The deck-stiffened, plate-arch structure is the first of its kind in the US and the bridge is also the first multi-span, plate-arch bridge built in the country. Even before its opening, the 4th Danube Bridge in Linz, also known as the Westring Bridge, has set a new world record! The Rekord Institut Österreich has crowned the bridge the longest earth-anchored suspension bridge in the world! At an impressive length of 305 meters, the bridge designed by #schlaichbergermannpartner works without any pylons thanks to a total of 24 suspension cables anchored in the rock, while still remaining slender and transparent. The four-lane highway bridge, built as a steel composite structure, is due to open at the end of the year. We are looking forward to its final realization!
