Tucked into the busy industrial area of Southeast Portland, Ore., 7 SE Stark has views unlike any other: beautiful Mt. Hood, the expansive West Hills, and the bustling Portland Metro area make this building a unique space for prospective tenants. Schnitzer Properties acquired the land to build a parking structure for the busy Southeast Portland area. However, seeing an opportunity to create a unique office space, Schnitzer Properties designed and constructed an innovative workspace and an opportunity for ground-floor retail. The result is a building that reflects the industrial roots of the district while also offering high-end, efficient spaces. The façade and shape resemble the concept of a mountain by a color shift from dark to bright on the exterior walls and faceted corners of the building's shape. Complete with a fitness center, indoor bike parking, above-ground vehicle parking, and much more, this modern building has plenty to offer prospective tenants. Big shoutout to our incredible Schnitzer Properties teams, which conquered the annual Hood To Coast Race Series this past weekend. Our runners and walkers pushed their limits, embracing every mile! We're proud to be part of what's known as the "Mother of All Relays" again this year. The Hood to Coast (HTC) relay takes teams through 196 miles of Oregon's beautiful yet challenging terrain, starting from the iconic top of Mount Hood and ending at the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Portland To Coast (PTC) is a 128-mile walking relay that starts in Portland and ends on Oregon's coast. Walkers race on the same course as runners starting in Portland. Congratulations to both teams for their phenomenal performance and a massive thank you to all our volunteers who helped make this event successful.

#ThrowbackThursday: Known as "The Salmon Building," the "Home Office," or simply by its address, 1121 SW Salmon Street, this iconic Portland building has been part of the Schnitzer Properties portfolio since 1987. While we have offices in six Western states, Schnitzer Properties' headquarters is in The Salmon Building in downtown Portland, Ore. Let's take a trip down memory lane to learn about the history of the building we have called home for nearly four decades. Built in 1958, the building was originally only three stories high and housed the Oregon Pulp and Paper Company. From 1965 to 1981, it was home to Oregon's second-largest corporation, Evans Products Company, an international manufacturer and distributor of building materials, houses, and railway cars. Monford A. Orloff, seen in one of the photos, chaired Evans Products Company during its time at the building. He was a leader in business, arts, and civic affairs in Oregon and a friend of the Schnitzer family. In 1967, Evans Products Company added three additional floors to the building, including the penthouse and rooftop garden. Additional touches completed the project, such as a bronze spiral staircase and high-quality wood finishes, which are still present in the building today. In 1987, Harold and Arlene Schnitzer purchased the building and remodeled its exterior. They added the distinctive red brick façade, and it has been known as the Schnitzer Properties headquarters ever since. #History #Portland #PortlandHistory #SchnitzerProperties #Architecture #CommercialRealEstate #Schnitzer #Buildings #BuildingHistory #GoodBusiness #PDXHistory #PDX #FamilyBusiness

Property Highlight: Center at Spring Mountain in Las Vegas, Nevada Just one short-mile trip off the busy Las Vegas Strip, the Center at Spring Mountain is a shopping and dining destination for locals and tourists alike. “It’s cool because we’re not in the casinos or the tourist area,” AVP Portfolio Manager Kim Chen said. “And we also try not to limit ourselves to Chinatown and Chinese cuisine only. We have a little bit of everything. I always tell people that you could spend 24 hours on this property and have something to do for all 24 hours.” Originally built as an industrial property, Schnitzer Properties bought and converted the space into an Asian-themed retail property with plenty of flexibility. Centrally located in Clark County, Nevada’s dedicated Chinatown Corridor, the architecture reflects the Asian theme of the area. With 369,704 square feet and 144 tenants that feature plenty of variety, this property prides itself on the unlimited potential when it comes to its tenants.

Swinging for Success at the 2024 CREW Portland Golf Tournament! We had an incredible day at Langdon Farms Golf Club for the annual USI Golf Tournament by CREW Portland and the Oregon/SW Washington CCIM Chapter, where Schnitzer Properties was proud to be the dinner sponsor. This tournament, known for selling out every year, was once again a fantastic celebration of community and connection. Let's give a round of applause to our all-female team from Schnitzer Properties: Erica Hetfled, Brittany Falkers, Angela Williams, and Michele Micciche. Their energy and enthusiasm on the course were truly inspiring, and their representation is a testament to the diversity and inclusivity we strive for in the commercial real estate industry. Rachelle Jones, our Property Manager, CREW Portland member, and tournament chair, perfectly captured the spirit of the day: "It was an amazing day on the golf course celebrating women in commercial real estate. I'm proud to be part of CREW and to see Schnitzer Properties swing big to support their mission. Sponsoring and participating in events like this help us grow industry connections and reinforce our support for women in the commercial real estate industry." CREW Portland CCIM Oregon/SW Washington Chapter #SchnitzerProperties #CREWPortland #CCIMGolfTournament #WomenInRealEstate #CREWgolf #CCIM #CommercialRealEstateWomen #CREWWomen #WomenInCRE #LangdonFarms #CommunitySupport #Networking #EmpoweringWomen

Schnitzer Properties Tenant Appreciation Days! At Schnitzer Properties, we focus on building relationships, especially with our tenants. What better way to do this than with some summertime treats? In Tucson, Arizona, our team stopped by all 10 of our buildings and brought Maui Wowi, a local authentic Hawaiian Smoothie and coffee vendor. Our team received a lot of positive feedback and gratitude for the cold drinks in the Arizona heat. Our team organized tenant appreciation events in the East Bay region of California at Dowe Business Park and Stoneridge Business Center. The events, featuring a luncheon with local taco vendor The Taco Guy, sweet treats from Contreras’s Market, and a vibrant musical performance from local Mariachi Band Serenatas Directos, were a hit with our tenants, who showered us with positive feedback and appreciation.

Western Real Estate Business magazine asked Schnitzer Properties President and CEO Jordan Schnitzer about the Portland, Oregon market. Schnitzer discussed the complexities of office vacancies and our company's growth strategy. He also offered some sound advice he has shared with Schnitzer Properties team members for years. "My staff may be sick and tired of hearing it, but I keep saying, 'Better to be lucky than smart,'" said Schnitzer.
