Intuit Dome, home to the LA Clippers National Basketball Association (NBA) team, officially opened last Thursday in Inglewood, CA. Schuff fabricated and erected 13,500 tons of structural steel for the project, including many unique elements such as trusses, tree columns, pinned toggle braces and a variety of seismic resisting elements. A well-deserved honor- congratulations to the entire project team for their work on this incredible project! Schuff fabricated and erected 10,300 tons of steel for the project, which is California’s first SpeedCore building.

Schuff fabricated and erected approximately 1,700 tons of structural steel for Phase One of UC San Diego Health's Hillcrest Campus Redevelopment. Being brought into the project very early in the design stages as a preconstruction partner, we were privileged to work hand in hand with Arcadis & KPFF Consulting Engineers to ensure alignment for a favorable outcome for all parties. Having topped out the Outpatient Pavilion last summer 3 weeks ahead of schedule, we are now carrying forward that same momentum to finish up the project, as we have started erecting the Central Utility Plant (CUP). Construction recently began on the UC Davis Health California Tower project, a 910,000 square foot healthcare facility located in Sacramento. Schuff Steel is fabricating and erecting 14,200 of structural steel for the facility, which is set to transform the region’s health outcomes. The progressive design build project has allowed Schuff to work alongside the project team to collaborate on the most optimized approach to meeting the schedule, scope and budget requirements. Introducing Don Foster, Schuff Steel’s Craft Team Lead Trainer at our Ottawa shop. With three decades in the steel industry, Don has dedicated 18 years to Schuff, focusing on training new craft employees in the company's operational processes while emphasizing a steadfast 'Safety First' approach.    Don derives immense satisfaction from his role, particularly when he witnesses the professional growth of his trainees as they evolve into integral members of the Schuff team. This journey of nurturing talent and observing their successful careers brings him great joy.    One of Don’s most significant achievements at Schuff is the respect and recognition he garners from his peers and other managers as they work together to make Schuff the best it can be. His daily drive stems from a love for construction, a zest for tackling challenges, and a fervor for mentoring the next generation to experience the same fulfillment from a job well done.    For those just starting out, Don's advice is clear and inspiring: “At Schuff Steel, the sky's the limit. We prioritize internal promotions and take pride in watching our employees grow into valuable team members. Identify what motivates you and pursue it with determination, as the rewards are well worth the effort.”    Outside of work, Don enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending quality time with his sons, imparting the knowledge and skills he has acquired over his extensive career. Don, your dedication to training Schuff’s team members is truly appreciated!

Schuff Steel was awarded the fabrication and erection of United Terminal B at George Bush Airport in Houston, TX.
