Meet John Amanam, the pioneering Nigerian sculptor creating hyperrealistic prosthetics for Black amputees. With a fine arts degree and a mission to fill the gap in skin-tone-matching prosthetics, he launched Immortal Cosmetic Art Ltd. Amanam's journey began when his brother, after an accident, received a prosthetic that didn't match his skin color. Inspired by this experience, Amanam crafted a lifelike prosthetic for his brother, matching his brown skin perfectly. Today, Amanam transforms personal adversity into a thriving business, producing realistic flesh covers for ears, noses, fingers, and more. His work not only restores physical appearance but also boosts the self-esteem of those who've lost limbs. Show him some love Follow Sciencestical for more content.

Who was Tesla? Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a pioneering inventor and electrical engineer whose work revolutionized the modern world. Born in Croatia, Tesla's education in physics and engineering fueled his groundbreaking innovations. Tesla's most significant contribution was the development of the alternating current (AC) electrical system, which allowed for efficient long-distance electricity transmission, outshining Thomas Edison’s direct current (DC) system. He also invented the Tesla coil, crucial for wireless communication and high-voltage electricity. Tesla’s work laid the foundation for radio technology, with his patents recognized as pivotal in the development of radio waves and transmission. His invention of the induction motor transformed industrial machinery by making electric power a practical energy source. Despite his genius, Tesla struggled financially and died penniless in 1943. Today, his legacy lives on, inspiring countless innovations. The Tesla car company, named in his honor, symbolizes modern technological advancement and sustainable energy. Tesla’s vision continues to shape our world, highlighting the endless possibilities of human creativity and perseverance. Follow Sciencestical for more content Status: Boston Celtics

Meet Chika Ofili, a 12-year-old Nigerian boy who received the TruLittle Hero Award for discovering a new mathematical formula. This award recognizes remarkable achievements by children under 17 across the UK. Chika made his discovery while solving a holiday assignment given by his teacher, Mary Ellis, the head of Mathematics at Westminster Under School. Given a book with divisibility tests for numbers 2 to 9, but none for 7, Chika devised a new formula. His formula involves taking the last digit of a number, multiplying it by 5, and adding it to the rest of the number. If the result is divisible by 7, so is the original number.
