Cryogenic Measurement Solutions
About us
Scientific Instruments (SI), an ISO 9001 certified company, is one of the world leaders in design and manufacturing of measurement systems for cryogenic science applications. From quantum computing, space launch support and flight hardware, cryopumps, zero emission technology to Liquid Natural gas storage tanks, SI stands ready to provide the most reliable cryo measurement systems in the world. SI was founded in 1967 by Jack Hoey and Gilbert Halverson. Coming from aerospace and academic backgrounds, they identified a market need for cryogenic (4K) temperature measurement and developed one of the world's first Germanium Resistance Thermometers (GRT). These sensing devices were supplied to NASA and used in the Apollo Lunar Program. Today, SI products can be found around the globe in all sorts of cryogenic applications.

Today is Helium Conservation day! This scarce and non-renewable resource was discovered on this day in 1908. With no alternative, Helium is now used in key scientific research, medical technologies, and space exploration. Scientific Instruments uses liquified helium in an numerous testing procedures. This is aided by our Bluefors Helium liquefier which we can now capture an reuse helium that was typically lost to the atmosphere during these tests. This enables us to vastly decrease the annual usage of this critical resource and do our part to conserve it!
