Nearly 5,000 observers and 45,000 observations! 2024 Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz, held by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) in partnership with The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation, showed the power of teamwork across the country. Let's GroMoreGood, together.
This past September, nearly 100 organizations — from zoos and museums to local and state parks departments — came together to observe and document the incredible species for our sixth annual Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz. With events held across 35 states, from Arizona to New York, the impact was felt nationwide. 4,850 observers made 44,972 observations, documenting 5,685 species of flora and fauna. Those who hosted a BioBlitz event in September had the chance to win one of three $1,000 prizes or one of three Scotts Miracle-Gro prize packs, to help with pollinator habitats or programs. Congratulations to City of Taylor Parks and Recreation Department, Texas, Phoenixville Borough, Pennsylvania, Raritan Township Environmental Commission and Green Team, New Jersey, City of Doral Parks and Recreation, Florida, Crawford County Conservation District of Kansas, and Cedar Hill Parks and Recreation, Texas. For the second straight year, our Temecula, California team was proud to participate in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. Through fundraisers and donations by associates and family members, they exceeded their goal and have raised more than $10,000 in two years. Our associates in Temecula have many friends and loved ones that have been touched by breast cancer in some way, so it’s a cause that’s dear to their hearts. Incredible work, team Temecula! Thank you for continually showing what GroMoreGood is all about.

“Here at Scotts we understand the immense power of natural green spaces and the role they play in helping kids and their families to play, thrive, learn and grow,” said John Sass, Vice President, Chief Creative Officer of ScottsMiracle-Gro. “This has been a passion of ours for the past decade and something that we think about within our own families, so we’re proud to be partnering with Every Kid Sports to help more kids enjoy youth sports and reap all of the benefits of natural green spaces at the same time.” Learn more about the debate over natural turfgrass versus artificial turf and the evidence that supports natural turfgrass.
