Scripted Group
Business Consulting and Services
Scripted prompts for an unscripted workplace. Get ready to play at work.
About us
At Scripted Group, we have 3 big rocks we stand on as a Corporate Learning consultancy: We’re not going to speak for three hours. We’re not going to go through 143 slides. We’re not going to tell corny jokes in hopes that your team sees a parallel between the nuances of the pun and corporate culture. Because we hate all of that stuff, too. Scripted Group is… A new, innovative learning and training approach to professional development. A group of experts in psychology, counseling, and team dynamics. An interactive experience that will help you and your team accomplish in a day what most consultants take months to get to. Scripted Group creates custom and engaging scripts to ignite creativity and teamwork. Your team will read the scripts blindly to get those genuine and spontaneous interactions that cultivate a connected and collaborative environment. By embracing the unpredictable nature of the scripts, your team will develop stronger relationships and build a safe culture where coworkers can grow together. All of this points to Psychological Safety in the workplace. And Psychological Safety is your path to higher retention, morale, and productivity. Research proves that. There’s something special that happens when your team plays together, and Scripted Group brings that out in an intentional and fun way. Bottom line: it’s a professional development day your team will remember for a long time and ask you to repeat in the future.

Psychological Safety is a trending topic for good reason. It's so pivotal to the success of an organization, we even founded an entire new company (Scripted Group) with it in mind. And since so much of our work with John Sullivan Solutions ties into creating healthy workplaces and teams who are fully equipped to thrive, we thought it was due time for a check-up! For full real-life examples, check out our recent blog post in the comments. ⬇ #psychologicalsafety #scriptedgroup #healthyworkplaces #workplaceculture

Fantastic work from ASICS! There's nothing we love more than shattering decades-long toxic workplace habits. Well done. 👏 Just imagine if your boss regularly said, "Let's take this meeting outside and walk around the block."
Spending hours at our desks can be a danger to our mental health. So ahead of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, we’ve enlisted Brian Cox to play the role of the ‘World’s Scariest Boss’ in a Public Service Announcement for office workers. Research shows our mental state starts to decline after only two hours of continuous desk-based working and stress levels rise significantly after four hours. But the good news is that just 15 minutes of physical activity can help to reverse the effects. So we’re encouraging those who can, to take a Desk Break to move your mind. Helping It is what I do and what I love. 36 hours of helping looks like this in my work right now: + Strategic Planning board session and capital campaign readiness at a K-12 independent school (Saturday morning) + Annual Dinner with local songwriters’ circle for a global nonprofit. (Pictured) #onlyinmusiccity #nashville (Saturday evening) + Guest Lecture at the International Catholic Stewardship conference in NOLA with J David Lopez and Steve McSwain. (At gate D6 BNA heading south as we speak) “What is your line of work, John? What do you do?” I help. I love to help.

We should remember that conflicts aren’t necessarily bad. Usually, conflict occurs when our different value sets, experience and expertise mean we hold different perspectives on something, or we have misaligned goals and priorities. It often indicates that something is important enough for us to care strongly about it; this type of #conflict, well managed, can be a force for improvement and change. Psychological safety is not the absence of conflict: it gives us the ability to constructively handle conflict in an interpersonally safe way. Some researchers suggest that framing conflict as “relationship conflict” or “task conflict”* helps us address how to resolve them, but it’s rarely as simple as that in practice. In the real world, even task conflict can be a “hot topic”, especially if there is a high degree of uncertainty or the stakes are particularly high. Also, conflict is messy and complex, and reductionist attempts to rationalise conflict with a procedure or framework that treats all conflicts in the same way will likely fail, or cause even more damage. We can’t “playbook” our way out of interpersonal conflict. To deal with this, Edmondson and McLainSmith** describe how to adopt “cooling systems” at the individual, team, and organisational levels, which can help to de-escalate conflicts from hot to cool. John Dobbin*** touches on a similar topic with his introduction of “holding environments”, first coined by Donald Winnicott in 1973****, which originally refers to the safe holding of a baby by their mother, but extends to “the continuation of reliable holding in terms of the ever-widening circle of family and school and social life”. At work, we can consider William Kahn’s definition***** “Holding environments are interpersonal or group-based relationships that enable self-reliant workers to manage situations that trigger potentially debilitating anxiety”. When we’re facilitating #workshops, chairing meetings, #managing a #team or #leading an #organisation, part of what we’re doing is creating a holding environment, and we believe that an essential component of any holding environment is #psychologicalsafety – for how can we facilitate adaptive work without psychological safety? Invest in psychological safety. Invest in your team. ---------------------- 💥 We're PsychSafety! 🎯 We make psychological safety real. 🎤 We write about psychological safety, leadership and innovation.
