🌟 Bridging Resources for Reentry Success 🌟 Once a month, I have the opportunity to represent the Prison to Employment team and San Diego Workforce Partnership by attending the PACT meeting at the Escondido Parole Office. These gatherings are powerful reminders of the collaborative efforts needed to support individuals transitioning back into society. The meetings bring together a range of crucial resources, all in one place, aimed at equipping individuals on parole with the tools they need to thrive. From workforce development services (my area of focus) to comprehensive medical and dental care, sexual and reproductive health, transgender services, educational programs, housing assistance, and even essential services like cell phones – the PACT meetings showcase a unified commitment to creating a supportive ecosystem that is welcoming, nurturing and INCLUSIVE. A huge shoutout to all the incredible partners who make this resource network possible. Meet José De La Cruz, an intake specialist on our client services team at the San Diego Workforce Partnership. José's day-to-day involves guiding customers through our services and connecting them with resources such as career advice, job applications and even housing and food assistance. One of José’s proudest moments was his involvement in the Metro Career Center modernization project, which transformed it into a vibrant and welcoming space. Beyond professional achievements, José cherishes helping clients overcome personal barriers, such as aiding a client who doubted her employability due to her age and witnessing her eventual success. Off the clock, José enjoys spending quality time with his daughter, Samantha, running and tackling home improvement projects.
