SeaTrees protects and restores coastal ecosystems globally, to protect ocean health and fight climate change.

About us

SeaTrees directly supports communities and scientists who protect and regenerate blue-carbon coastal ecosystems. Blue carbon is the most effective way to draw carbon out of the atmosphere and permanently sequester it. SeaTrees works with communities around the world to plant and protect mangrove and kelp forests, seagrass, ridge-to-reef watersheds, and coral reefs. Our projects do a lot more than sequester carbon. We measure our impact with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The regeneration and protection of these ecosystems provides critical habitat for countless species, sustainable long-term employment for local communities, and protects those communities from storm surges and sea-level rise. SeaTrees is an ocean-focused platform for people and brands to take direct action on climate change. There are many different ways to support the blue carbon projects on the SeaTrees platform, and then tell that story to others. Our Vision: We believe the ocean has the superpower to reverse climate change, but we need to help by protecting and restoring blue carbon ecosystems. There's no time to waste – the global scientific consensus is clear that we have the next 10 years to reduce our collective carbon footprint. On Earth Day 2021 we announced our first major SeaTrees milestone 1 Million SeaTrees planted. We're working hard to find quality new projects where we can work together to plant the next Million SeaTrees. Longer-term, our goal is to support 100 blue-carbon projects in threatened coastal ecosystems by 2030, in-turn becoming a global leader in developing blue-carbon projects.

Sustainable Textiles Consultant | Materials Innovation | UN Ocean Decade Endorsed Experiential Learning

Carolynn Box (cbox) and I announced the first Expert Speaker Tasting Session a few days ago and we are excited to continue sharing about our upcoming Textile X Ocean Connector Sail on September 27th! Our second round of expert speakers leading small group discussions on board include: (1) Alyssa Pace, Communications Lead at Sway, speaking to "How do we create next-generation materials that are both regenerative and circular?" (2) Dr. Timnit Kefela, Environmental Scientist at California State University Channel Islands speaking to "How can environmental justice be a driver for systems innovation at the intersection of textiles and oceans?" (3) Krystle Wood, Founder & Principlal Consultant at Materevolve and Co-Founder Textile X Ocean Connector Sail, speaking to "What are key actions that brands and material innovators can take now to address end-of-life impacts of fiber and textile production?" The sessions are fast paced and designed to provide knowledge on the most current science and solutions related to textile derived ocean pollution. All of the talks will take place while we under sail on the beautiful San Francisco Bay. While it may be easier logistically, we have found that the conversations on the Textile X Ocean Connector Sail are incomparable to those happening behind a computer screen or in a conference room. Here from one of our past alum: “The kinesthetic experience of being on a boat, and it’s motion, and the air quality of the sky, and the sounds of the water, and the crew moving around...It helps you retain memories in a different way than being in another environment.” -Rebecca Burgess, Fibershed Executive Director Please join us and let's sail together! Thank you to SeaTrees for the photograph of macrocystis. Thank you Paige Green for my photos :) #textilexoceanconnectorsail #microfiberpollution #bluematerialworld

🌊 Our ocean is on the front line of the climate crisis, making waves of change for our planet by: 🪸 ~ Sequestering 30% of the planet’s carbon emissions 🌍 ~ Producing 50% of the world’s oxygen 🔥 ~ Absorbing 90% of greenhouse gases emitted But this crucial role comes with a cost—rising temperatures, acidification, and habitat loss. Imagine a world without vibrant reefs and calming waves—our very existence depends on the Ocean’s health. Help us keep the Ocean thriving for future generations, today and every day. 💙 Let’s turn the tide together. We are proud to debut our 2024 Sustainability Impact and Progress Report, “Seafood Future,” our annual report highlighting the sustainability and social impact work completed the prior year, as well as our goals for the future. At Bumble Bee, we are committed to continuing the work that we started years ago, working toward closing the gap on some of the biggest challenges in the seafood sustainability space. A few highlights from the 2024 Seafood Future report include: • We are ranked #1 for having the most Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) eco-labeled products among all shelf-stable tuna brands in the United States. • Our products use 96% recyclable* shelf-stable packaging, which has resulted in 14.3 million estimated pieces of plastic waste avoided in 2023. (*See page 17 in the report for more information including how we define “recyclable”). • We are making substantial progress toward meeting our 2025 goal of having 100% of all seafood sourced be externally recognized as environmentally sustainable, or in a formal program moving towards certification. (91% as of 2023). Click here to review the full Seafood Future report: https://lnkd.in/gtH4fVwG

We are so EXCITED to announce our new partnership with SeaTrees! From here on, Every Switch pen plants a mangrove tree. Why Mangroves? These incredible trees store carbon into the soil, combat deforestation, and protect coastal ecosystems (including the nursery grounds for gray whales).  One mangrove tree will be planted in Laguna San Ignacio, Baja, Mexico, for every product we sell. (Same applies for the pen refills.) SeaTrees

President and CEO Bentley Motors, Inc. - Americas Region

Just back from an amazing Monterey Car Week! Bentley Motors showcased nearly 90 cars and hosted over 3,000 guests across various events. Highlights included the debut of the new Continental GT Speed in the US and the stunning Bentayga S Black Edition. We also had our iconic Beach Dinner at Seal Rock and announced a new initiative with SeaTrees to restore US kelp forests. The weekend wrapped up with Bentley’s Signature Party and participation at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where we showcased the 1961 S2 Drophead and the new Continental GTC Speed. I’m especially excited about the new GT Speed—it’s our most powerful and sustainable Bentley yet, with 771 BHP and just 29 g/km CO2 emissions. My favorite configuration is the Orange Flame Satin over Gravity Grey, featured at The Quail. It was a pleasure connecting with customers, media and colleagues at one of my favorite events of the year. #BentleyMCW2024 #Bentley #NewContinentalGT #MontereyCarWeek
