Sing-Suen Soon, Program Manager at SecondMuse, was one of the distinguished speakers at the SEA of Solutions 2024, held at the recent United Nations Conference in Bangkok. Alongside other panelists including Darina Maulana and Dr. Kasia Weina, Suen shared key learnings about the challenges and opportunities to scaling reuse programs in the region. She delved into case studies from SecondMuse's work in the past five years sourcing, supporting, and scaling holistic solutions to combat plastic pollution. The discussion provided valuable insights into the changes required for plastic alternative adoption in the region. We aim to continue supporting and exploring the integration of reuse systems with a diverse network of stakeholders across the entire plastics value chain. Our CEO, Todd Khozein, shares powerful insights on how the U.S. can lead the global climate tech transition, using New York's thriving ecosystem as a model. "Building a new market requires long-term continuity that can't be swayed by short-term incentives or shifting strategies. This is key to developing a collaborative innovation ecosystem," Todd explains. With $664M raised in 2023 and over 133,000 jobs created, the opportunity is huge—but it requires long-term vision and collaboration. Reflecting on an Inspiring #NYCClimateWeek: Solutions, Innovation, and Momentum in the Climate Tech Revolution Todd Khozein of #Bcorp SecondMuse was one of a number of #ebbfmembers actively present at New York’s Climate Week. This is what he shares: “What an unforgettable, sleepless, inspiring week. The climate crisis can be terrifying and paralyzing when you read about it and watch the effects, most of which are being borne by the most vulnerable among us. Then, you spend a week with smart, passionate, and beautiful souls who dedicate their lives with relentless brilliance to meet the challenge. “ Todd then shares a few of his highlights from the week. ⚡️A decade ago, SecondMuse embarked on building a climate tech economy in NY, transforming the Brooklyn Navy Yard into a hub of innovation thanks to visionary moves by the New York City Economic Development Corporation and NYSERDA. ⚡️At the For ClimateTech event, we showcased 40+ entrepreneurs with groundbreaking technologies ready for market, highlighting real and investable solutions amid a $100 trillion climate transition. This is the largest economic shift in human history, and we’re not alone in this journey. The momentum is tangible, proving that we're meeting the moment together.” In the image Todd presenting at the Climate Tech Investment event hosted by 🌏 The Atlas Capital & Climate Tech Coalition. There he shared the stage with @Ayub A. and his fierce moderation skills, Reynold D'Silva, Yael Weisz Zilberman and Juriaan Kellermann. Also thanks to Newlab he shared the stage with Jade Garrett at the New Climate Futures 2024 event, for a critical conversation about accelerating underserved founders. We would love to hear from the other #ebbfmembers who attended Climate Week at such a crucial climate crossroads for our civilisation , living ebbf core values of #sustainability #moderation and #justice

What an unforgettable, sleepless, inspiring week at #NYCClimateWeek. The climate crisis can be terrifying and paralyzing when you read about it and watch the effects, most of which are being borne by the most vulnerable among us. Then, you spend a week with smart, passionate, and beautiful souls who dedicate their lives with relentless brilliance to meet the challenge. Here are a few of my highlights from the week: ⚡️A decade ago, SecondMuse embarked on building a climate tech economy in NY, transforming the Brooklyn Navy Yard into a hub of innovation thanks to visionary moves by the New York City Economic Development Corporation and NYSERDA. ⚡️At the For ClimateTech event, we showcased 40+ entrepreneurs with groundbreaking technologies ready for market, highlighting real and investable solutions amid a $100 trillion climate transition. This is the largest economic shift in human history, and we’re not alone in this journey. The momentum is tangible, proving that we're meeting the moment together. Now, for some heartfelt thank you to all the partners and collaborators who made this week possible: Crain's New York Business, for spotlighting our journey → https://lnkd.in/gBeE3M4m To my dedicated colleagues Lara Croushore, Katey Metzroth (she/her), Cassie Schuttrumpf, Elissa Bozhkov, Kris Licciardello, Raven Alesia Keenan, Shai Fogelson, Anne Dodge, Sanya Srivastava, Elsa Landis, Simone Byrd, and Varsha Kalavar for their extraordinary efforts. Thanks to NextCorps and NYSERDA team members James Senall, Mike Riedlinger, Jack Baron, Brandon N. Owens, and Richard Bourgeois. Gratitude to 🌏 The Atlas Capital & Climate Tech Coalition for a fantastic Climate Tech Investment event, where I had the opportunity to share the stage with Ayub Ansari and his fierce moderation skills, Reynold D'Silva (who fired me up with a pre-panel Shahnameh mic drop), Yael Weisz Zilberman (who took me back to Buenos Aires for a minute) and Juriaan Kellermann. Thank you to Newlab for the opportunity to share the stage with Jade Garrett at the New Climate Futures 2024 event, for a critical conversation about accelerating underserved founders. Many thanks to Paola de Almeida and Pegasus Capital Advisors, for centering food insecurity in investment conversations. Alando Simpson, AJ Simpson, and Bill Kent, your partnership in turning #PDX into a circular economy is inspiring. And to Kory Murphy, CJ Robbins, Knowledge Murphy, and my Northwest Xcelerator family for our shared vision and collaborative spirit in advancing climate tech.

Bengaluru generates over 5,000 tonnes of waste daily, with only 30% collected by the government, leaving much of it to private contractors (Yunus Environment Hub). In response, SecondMuse, in partnership with EIT Climate-KIC and supported by the IKEA Foundation, launched the Circular Economy Innovation Cluster to strengthen the city’s waste management. The ongoing accelerator program is helping seven companies develop upstream waste solutions and improve investment readiness, in addition to the two-week Circular Economy Journey for post-grads and young professionals that concluded last month. Learn more about the Journey here: https://lnkd.in/gGpm9Sms
🔄 Bengaluru has a waste problem. As the population of Bengaluru has soared and the city has boomed economically, so has the waste disposal to 5,000 tonnes today. Together with SecondMuse, we are establishing a Circular Economy Innovation Cluster, to enable the growth of circular solutions for waste prevention. We're working with local organisations, governments, businesses, and investors to create a collaborative ecosystem that addresses the community’s unique needs. We spoke with Nalini Shekar, co-founder of Hasiru Dala, and Suresh Krishna, co-founder of Yunus Social Business Fund, on the critical role of waste workers in keeping the city clean.
