About us
The Institute for Second Service, previously known as Veterans Campaign is a non-partisan, non-ideological, non-profit organization with a mission to encourage, mentor and prepare veterans, transitioning service members, military family members, and other members of the military community for a "Second Service" in civic and political leadership. Our programs include political leadership and candidate training workshops, a Distinguished Speaker Series, guides and "Field Manuals" for veterans aspiring to civic and political leadership, research on veterans in civic and political leadership. We partner with the University of San Francisco to offer the Master of Arts in Public Leadership program for those wishing to further their training, education, and exploration as civic leaders. Institute for Second Service recognizes and honors the incredible women who have served in the armed forces on this #WomensVeteransDay as the 76th anniversary of the passage of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act.
#OTD 76 years ago, the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act was signed, granting women a permanent place in our nation’s military. Women Veterans Day, as it’s now known, is designated to honor all of the military women who have and continue to serve our nation. Thank you for your service and sacrifice!
