SECOVE projects supports gender balance in the green energy sector, through the development of observatories for gender equality, awareness campaigns and organisation of summer academies for girls in secondary education.

🔬 **Breaking Barriers: SECOVE Summer Academy in Cagliari** 🚀 From 8 to 19 July, the Summer Academy in Cagliari delved into the critical topic of STEM disciplines and the gender gap. With the stark 2023 Eurostat statistics revealing that less than 49% of women in Italy are employed in STEM fields, while other countries like Spain, France, Greece, and Portugal fare slightly better than the EU average of 52.3%, it’s clear that action is needed. Some Eastern European nations even exceed 58%. This makes the Summer Academy's specialized training for female students all the more essential. Starting in Cagliari on 8 July 2024, and running until 19 July at the CIOFS-FP Sardinia headquarters, it will be a pivotal initiative. Simultaneously, similar initiatives are underway in Portugal, Greece, Spain, and Slovakia.
