Did you know that SEEC’s customized employment programs have resulted in a 58% employment rate for the individuals we support—nearly three times the national average for people with I/DD?! SEEC-supported employees earn an average of $17.54 per hour, with cumulative annualized earnings of $3.7 million for the 170 employees in the program. Shout out to Ryan's new employer, BlueStar TeleHealth, for customizing a job that is a valued contribution to their business and allows Ryan to do the administrative work he loves! #liveworkthrive #NDEAM2024 #EmploymentForAll Willow Newman Zachary Chambers Katie Smeltz, MSW, LMSW

Nothing makes us prouder than seeing someone SEEC supports thriving at work. Brett joined UPS Warehouse four years ago and has become a valued and integral part of the team. With partners like UPS, we're part of the equation to help individuals with disabilities bring their best selves to work, contribute to meaningful roles and make their work environments a better place. Mr. Rick Allison, co-owner of King Street Oyster Bar, has added two new employees to his NOMA staff. Marcus and Kidus, both of whom SEEC supports, are thrilled to be a part of the KSOB workforce. Jimmy, whom SEEC supports and who already works there, was happy to show Marcus and Kidus their new tasks. Rick has provided employment, internships, and “discovery activities” for the people we support at SEEC and is consistently opening doors for people with disabilities. Chris Puchon, manager at the NOMA location, provides opportunities for his employees to learn different tasks and is always making sure that they feel good on the job. “Partnering with SEEC has transformed our restaurant, infusing it with fresh perspectives and enthusiasm...” Chris added, “As a manager, this collaboration has not only enriched my leadership experience, but has also fostered a more inclusive and dynamic team culture.” Dine at King Street Oyster Bar's NOMA restaurant (https://lnkd.in/dAsum6Sk) and support inclusive hiring! #NDEAM2024 #liveworkthrive #InclusionWorks #DisabilityEmployment #EmploymentForAll #DiversityAndInclusion Katie Smeltz, MSW, LMSW Sean Adams Suzanne Jayaraman Rose Ansara Courtney Murray Kendra Mbanje

SEEC was honored to host the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee meeting last week with Montgomery County Council President Andrew Friedson and Vice President Kate Stewart. There was a large turnout for the discussion of current affairs affecting the business and non-profit community in the County and we were grateful for the opportunity to talk about the work we do to support adults with intellectual disabilities in our community. #liveworkthrive Katrina Kugel Karen Lee

"We believe in people." Danny Benjamin, President of Benjamin Office Supply, knows what it takes to foster a successful team. And working with SEEC, he now knows how to support someone with a disability in thriving at work. Shattering the myth that someone with a disability can't work in a logistics role, John Lane brought his energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to the Benjamin Office Supply team. SEEC is proud to have helped Benjamin Office Supply become part of the equality equation. #NDEAM2024 #liveworkthrive

Once again, Robert Gitterman impresses the crowd! Last night, Robert's wit and humor shone at an author reading and discussion about Angie Kim's new book "Happiness Falls" at Main Street Apartments in Rockville, MD. It's moments like these that highlight the incredible talents and personalities of those we support. Keep impressing, Robert! #liveworkthrive

A big shout out to the Greater Rockville Chamber of Commerce for hosting a robust B2B/B2C event this week at Lakewood Country Club Rockville! Attendees were able to foster deeper relationships within the local business community. A special acknowledgement to Dawn Hipsley of the chamber, and owner of Tripoint Administrative Services, for her recent hiring of one of SEEC's job seekers, Alex.
