It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of two exceptional leaders, Ferdinand Seefried and Rob Rakusin, from Seefried Properties. Ferdinand, originally from Austria, moved to the U.S. in 1977 with aspirations of starting his own company. Following his university studies, he gained valuable experience at a U.S. investment bank in Munich, specializing in REIT stocks and real estate transactions. Transitioning from the world of stock brokerage to real estate, he joined a consulting firm focused on U.S. commercial real estate for German and Austrian institutions. In 1983, Ferdinand identified a unique opportunity and founded Seefried Properties, Inc., focusing on developing properties near airports and logistics hubs. His leadership and strong partnerships with European financial institutions and e-commerce giants drove the company's expansion across the Sunbelt, establishing Seefried Properties as a leader in warehouse development. Since joining the company in 1993 as CEO, Rob has demonstrated leadership and strategic acumen that has been pivotal to Seefried’s ascent as a leading development company in the U.S. Throughout his tenure at Seefried, he has not only guided the company’s regional offices but also played a crucial role in structuring deals, managing financing activities, and fostering essential relationships with U.S. capital partners and user/occupier relationships. Prior to joining Seefried, Rob served as Managing Director and Vice President of Development at Landmarks Development GmbH, overseeing the development of office buildings and industrial parks in Berlin under The Landmarks Group. Earlier in his career, he held the role of Vice President of Project Finance at the LandMark Group and worked at Carter & Associates from 1981 to 1988. Ferdinand and Rob have made a profound impact on Seefried Properties, shaping our culture of innovation, integrity, and operational excellence.
