During this week Elena and I have been present at the 14th Panhellenic Congress of the Hellenic Society of Hypnologyl in Athens, presenting for the first time Néa in the Greek market. We have had the pleasure to talk to the most important sleep KOLs in Greece and they have all expressed their great surprise to see that someone has developed the first cpap on the market that has no foam and no silicone in the air path to the patient. They understood that this is truly a breakthrough that marks a before and after in the treatment of sleep apnea. We have also conveyed the need to have devices that show the true severity of the disease in patients, and for this it is necessary to know how to identify central hypoapneas. Great time in Nancy!

#Sefam is present as sponsor at the XXXVIII Corso Residenziale di Medicina del Sono in Bertinoro (Italy) which is being held from 5-9th April. The experts’ guidelines cover the definitions of central sleep apnea hypopnea syndromes (CSA), the characterization and semiology of the abnormal respiratory events that define them, the sensors to be used to confirm the central nature of a respiratory event during sleep, and the type of recordings which can be used to establish the diagnosis of CSA. The experts also considered the detection of residual events under treatment with continuous positive airway pressure. Finally, they recommend unifying the designation of certain types of CSA (idiopathic, treatment emergent and combined). Please note the recommendation 21: "the ventilation devices that do not show detailed central events and/or central hypopneas should not be used in patients that present central events in the initial diagnosis".
