Effortless Packet Analysis with Selector Copilot! Inspired by a recent post from John Capobianco, I decided to try out Selector Packet Copilot with sample PCAP files from Wireshark’s repository, and I have to say—it’s a game-changer! Selector Packet Copilot cuts down the time-consuming task of packet analysis, providing sharp, insightful answers to questions about network traffic patterns, security, and performance. Here are a few queries I tested: > What are the common ports used in this traffic? > Are there any signs of suspicious activity or potential threats in this capture? > Are there any packet retransmissions or errors? > Unusual or unexpected IP addresses in the traffic? > Are there any signs of suspicious activity or potential threats? > Are there any attempts at unauthorized access? > Any bottlenecks in the data flow? The responses were impressive, with clear insights that bring context and clarity right from the start. As the name suggests, it's truly a "copilot"—a smart companion that guides you through packet analysis. I found that the more specific my questions, the more targeted the responses. If you’re familiar with Wireshark, this tool could enhance your analysis tremendously, turning complex network insights into manageable, actionable data.
