Sarah's experience is in areas of critical care inpatient nursing in a rural hospital setting. What Gets You Up in the Morning? One of the best parts of being a nurse is that every day brings on a new challenge and something new to learn. I am always up for a good challenge. I strongly believe that taking risks can bring the most reward in life. For so long, the industrial medical complex has transitioned the buyer/seller relationship to be a win win-lose. The sellers win and the buyers continually lose. This has become unsustainable. Welcome Allie Duenow RN, BSN to our Nurse Navigator team!!! Allie lives in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Background: I started my career as a critical care RN at an inner-city, community hospital in Milwaukee, WI. While there, I was able to learn the ins and outs of medicine, hone my nursing skills, and begin grasping the many gaps in our healthcare systems. I've spent the last three years in hospice as an RN case manager, bedside nurse, and team manager. I'm looking forward to leveraging my past experiences to advocate for and empathize with the many people Self Fund Health has set out to help. What Gets You Up in the Morning? Other than being a fervent Milwaukee foodie, I'm passionate about learning in all aspects of life. Getting the opportunity to listen to other people's stories, failures, and passions, then find commonality and connection. These exchanges keep me motivated and feed my soul. I'm excited about the opportunity to dive into a solution-oriented organization. I've long been surrounded by the inequities within a broken system. I've heard (and contributed to) the innumerable complaints of the many failures of America's healthcare and I'm fired up to be a part of an organization that is bringing creative, sustainable solutions to the table that will have a lasting, positive impact on Wisconsinites access to affordable and high-quality healthcare.
