We are pleased to be participating in Archtober's Building of the Day touring One Domino Square on October 22nd. This 700,000 sf mixed-use development is the third residential building on the historic Domino Sugar Refinery site in Williamsburg. It features two skyscrapers atop a shared seven-story podium: a south tower with 55 floors and a north tower with 39 floors. Anchoring the 11-acre public park and adjacent to Domino Square, the project is part of Two Trees Management Co. redevelopment, enhancing the neighborhood’s urban context and waterfront connections. Note that the tour is already sold out, but you can sign up for the waiting list here: https://bit.ly/3zIapvg

About us
Selldorf Architects is a 70-person architectural design practice founded by Annabelle Selldorf in New York City in 1988. The firm creates public and private spaces that manifest a clear and modern sensibility to enduring impact. The firm offers services in architectural design, interior design, exhibition design, master planning, landscape concepts and strategic planning. Clients include museums, cultural institutions and universities for projects such as the expansion and enhancement of The Frick Collection, the renovation of the Sainsbury Wing and surrounding public realm improvements at the National Gallery in London, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden modernization, a 50,000 sf expansion of the Art Gallery of Ontario, and a new Education Center and Historic Greenhouse Renovation at Harvard University’s Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, DC. Other completed projects include the expansion and revitalization of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Luma Arles a new contemporary art center in the south of France, the Clark Art Institute and Neue Galerie New York. In addition, the firm has created numerous galleries for David Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, and Gladstone Gallery amongst others, and designed exhibitions for The Jewish Museum, the Corning Museum of Glass, Frieze Masters, Gagosian, and the Venice Art Biennale. Residential architecture, both at the scale of private homes and multi-family dwellings, has been a foundational part of the firm and continues to be an important part of the office’s portfolio. Alongside cultural clients the firm works on major public and civic projects including Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility on the Brooklyn waterfront, the largest of its kind in the United States, and two wastewater management buildings for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection on the Gowanus Canal.

We are thrilled to share that Vogue has featured Annabelle Selldorf in this year’s September issue. Thank you to Vogue, Anna Wintour, Annie Leibovitz and Dodie Kazanjian for this incredible profile which starts with a hard-hat tour at the soon-to-be completed The Frick Collection, travels to a tiny island in Maine where Annabelle spends her downtime, and insightfully captures what distinguishes Annabelle’s humanist and sensitive design instinct. In addition to the Frick the article discusses other current major projects including the National Gallery London, One Domino Square, and the Château Haut-Brion winery in Bordeaux. "Dumbarton Oaks is one of those rare places where nature, art, and architecture come together in a very special and unique way. It is hard to think of other urban locations that have this harmonious mix. We are proud to contribute a new building that will enable Dumbarton Oaks to deliver its important mission to support the humanities with resources for scholars and the general public as it provides critical access to its gardens and landscape for all to enjoy.” - Annabelle Selldorf We are thrilled that Selldorf Architect was given the opportunity to design Farrand House in collaboration with Reed Hilderbrand as Landscape Architects. We are thrilled to share that David Zwirner’s Los Angeles flagship location at 606 North Western Avenue will open on May 23 with an inaugural exhibition presenting one work by each of its 80 artists. The newly constructed three-story building spans 15,000 sf of exhibition space and includes private viewing rooms, offices, and an outdoor terrace with views of the Hollywood sign. On the ground floor, skylights provide an abundance of controlled natural light to the primary public art spaces. Linking East and West Coast flagship locations, Selldorf designed a concrete staircase reminiscent of the distinctive stair at David Zwirner 20th Street in New York.
