We’re looking back at a trio of great projects today: UW Medicine South Lake Union – Phases 2, 3.1, and 3.2. Over the course of 12 years, Sellen’s team completed four buildings totaling more than 900,000 square feet of world-class life science research space. Work on the first phase of this life science campus started back in 2006, with subsequent phases continuing until 2018. Check out some of our favorite shots captured through all three phases! #builders #partners #neighbors 🏗

Each year, Sellen and Sellen Community Foundation lead a fundraising campaign for ANEW, a local pre-apprenticeship organization. We are excited to share that our 2024 campaign has generated more than $45,000 to-date! Thank you to all of the subcontractors who have joined us in supporting this important industry cause! 👷♀️ 👷♂️ 🏗 The funds we raise with the local subcontractor community help ANEW provide Washington's premier pre-apprenticeship training at no cost to its students. In 2023, more than 300 ANEW students completed the program and joined local trade unions. There's still time to help us reach our 2024 fundraising goal -- visit our campaign website to learn more and donate: https://lnkd.in/g-GAxZs5

COO Tim McKey retired last week after an incredible 38-year career at Sellen. After starting at Sellen as a carpenter apprentice, Tim rose through the ranks to serve as superintendent on projects throughout the Puget Sound region. He was promoted to COO in 2018 and played a key role in Sellen's continued success. Congratulations to Tim on a great career and thank you for being a friend, mentor, and leader for countless people at Sellen for so many years! 👏

The Artise project received LEED Gold certification earlier this month! 🥇 The new, 25-story tower in Bellevue was designed by NBBJ Design and developed by Schnitzer West, LLC. The project is anticipated to achieve 30% energy cost savings when compared to standard energy code requirements. Congratulations to everyone who helped deliver this new, high-performance addition to Bellevue's skyline! 🏗 📷: Benjamin Benschneider

Today, we're looking back at one of the largest projects in Sellen's 80-year history: the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Campus! Construction began in 2008 and continued until early 2011. More than 1,000 craftspeople, engineers, architects, and other team members helped bring this incredible project to life. Check out these photos from the construction process! 🏗 The 12-acre site includes two large office buildings, a visitor center, and a parking garage. The campus was also Sellen's first LEED Platinum project, with half an acre of green roofs and the capacity to recycle up to 2.5 million gallons of rain water each year.
