Updates

  • We want to provide our clients with an update regarding Hurricane Helene, which has now intensified into a hurricane and is projected to make landfall in Florida around 7 PM on Thursday. The storm's track has shifted further north and west, with current projections indicating it will make landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida. In addition to strong winds and heavy rain, there is an increasing risk of tornadoes, particularly in the Panhandle and Alabama, on Thursday. Based upon this current forecast, it appears that Lee and Collier Counties will be spared from significant wind damage. The more likely impact could result in storm surge along the coastline. There remains the possibility that the storm's path adjusts overnight, so we plan to continue monitoring it closely. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance.

  • The latest update from the National Hurricane Center has Tropical Storm Helene producing wind speeds of 45 miles per hour and expects it to become a hurricane on Wednesday. Forecasts have the storm moving across the eastern Gulf of Mexico Wednesday and Thursday. Over the Southeastern US, Helene is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 4 to 8 inches with isolated totals around 12 inches. This rainfall will likely result in areas of considerable flash flooding. Our team plans to use this opportunity to test our catastrophe response plan, with our staff working from home on Wednesday (and possibly Thursday). We will be available to answer any coverage questions or field any initial reports of property damage. We recognize that many of our clients are not currently residing in SWFL, so we will provide another update Wednesday afternoon. Here is a link to our agency’s hurricane preparedness guide: https://lnkd.in/e6-9qh4J Please remain safe and do not hesitate to call us with any related questions or needs.
