How product design drives sustainability? Interestingly, , after-sales services (or better #lifecycle services) are a crucial link between the two. Today I was discussing this topic with Coen Jeukens: his Coen’s words “service technicians are a mix of firefighter and magician: they will get the work done, one way or another” 👉🏻 But #repairability and #sustainabilitybydesign are key enablers to make this link also cost-effective, and make customers willing to buy #services that extend the lifecycle of products 👉🏻 As well, managing the #installedbase (knowing where asset are, how old they are, what’s their status and service history) is critical to enable effective service lifecycle management process to jointly optimize product performance and maintenance costs I’m looking forward to hear Coen and the other guest speakers at the next #ASAPForum “The servitization revolution for Sustainability”, next Oct 24-25 in Brescia.
