Seven States Power is an energy solutions cooperative that serves 153 local power companies across seven states of the Tennessee Valley. Our goal is to empower our members-owners to meet consumer demand for innovative energy in an evolving utility marketplace. Seven States leverages innovative technology to design, develop and deploy energy solutions for our members-owners. Current projects include EV chargers, solar, battery storage, backup generation, combined heat and power, cyber security, data analytics and load management.

  • Meet the State of Tennessee Commissioner Panel for our Annual Meeting!   Stuart C. McWhorter has been the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner since July 2022, leading nearly 160 projects, creating over 21,700 jobs and attracting $10.9B in capital investment, with a significant focus on foreign direct investment. With a rich background in entrepreneurship and finance, he co-founded Clayton Associates and served as the CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. Previously, Commissioner McWhorter was Commissioner of the Department of Finance and Administration, overseeing state budgets and coordinating Tennessee’s COVID-19 response. He lives in Nashville with his wife and five children.   David Salyers, P.E., P.G. is the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, appointed in 2019. Under his leadership, TDEC has seen historic investments in state parks and over $1B in drinking and wastewater infrastructure improvements. Recently appointed Chair of the Tennessee Nuclear Energy Advisory Council, Commissioner Salyers is a mission-driven leader focused on impactful relationships and partnerships to enhance Tennessee’s quality of life.   Butch Eley is the Deputy Governor and Commissioner of Transportation for Tennessee, overseeing statewide infrastructure investments for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and advising Governor Bill Lee. Previously, he served as Tennessee’s CFO and COO. A social entrepreneur and former White House official, Michelle’s work in eliminating energy burdens and driving economic opportunity through community solar and resilience centers is rooted in her faith and her belief to "love your neighbor as yourself."   Her accomplishments include cutting the U.S. government's energy bill by $11 billion and championing renewable energy under the Obama Administration. As a Senate-confirmed member of the Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors and Secretary of the Board for the Interdenominational Theological Center, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to serving her community.
