As San Francisco welcomes our new mayor, we reflect on our roots as a credit union founded by the dedicated members of the San Francisco Fire Department. Here's to a new chapter in our city's leadership and a continued commitment to serving those who protect and strengthen our community!

About us
Founded in 1951 by firefighters for firefighters, we are a credit union dedicated to building financial success in our community. Today, we continue to serve firefighters while also extending membership to those who live, work, or attend school in San Francisco, San Mateo, or Marin counties. Just as firefighters protect the physical security of the community, our institution protects its financial security. Unlike banks, we are a not-for-profit cooperative owned and operated by members like you. We are defined by our commitment to member-first service, community engagement, and innovation.

At SF Fire Credit Union, we believe there’s nothing better than coming together to volunteer for a great cause. This week, our incredible team had the opportunity to give back by volunteering two shifts at the San Francisco Fire Fighters Local 798 Toy Program, where we helped distribute toys to over 300 kids in need (all in one day!). We were also treated to an amazing chile verde lunch, served by the talented crews from Stations 8 and 35. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of community and teamwork. #SFFireCreditUnion #VolunteerTogether #GiveBack #SFFirefightersToyProgram

We had a blast at the Annual SF Firefighters Local 798 Toy Program Kick-Off Luncheon! It was great to see some familiar faces and meet new volunteers. Mayor-elect Daniel Lurie even dropped by to show his support. Station 11 cooked up an incredible Cioppino for lunch and we got a sneak peek of the toys - all organized and ready to go to children in need this holiday season. We’re proud to continue our tradition of donating over 200 ethnic dolls and 300 sports balls this year. The SF Fire CU team can’t wait to volunteer next month and help make a difference in our community. #sffirefighterstoyprogram #daniellurie #local798 #toyprogram

The holiday season is quickly approaching and the SF Firefighters Local 798 Toy Program is already hard at work fundraising for kids in need this year. We were proud to sponsor the annual Toy Program Golf Tournament which was held at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame. There was an incredible turnout, both by humans and wildlife alike! We even got Toy Program Director Mike Guajardo to pose with his front page feature of the October Siren Newsletter (which you can check out here - https://lnkd.in/g9jn-eka). We're excited to kick off the 2024 Holiday Season with the Toy Program! Our 2nd Member Shred Day event of 2024 was overwhelmingly successful, so much so that we had to end it earlier than planned - our members filled two shred trucks by 1:30pm! This was a first for us, and we will be making adjustments to future Shred Day events based on what we learned this past Saturday. A huge thank you to our team of volunteers for coming out, including our CEO Kathy Duvall! We know this is a favorite event among our members and we hope we helped them save some money and declutter going into the holidays and new year. See you again in the Spring! Thanks to volunteers: Elizabeth Rigney Nicole Brockman Juanita Hennington Jasmine McIntosh Brandon Choi Kritika Prasad-Kommuri Derrick L.

Huge thanks to our amazing team—come check out our branch! #BCXSummit #BranchOfTheFuture #Innovation"
We are so honored to have received the Innovator of the Year Award for the remodel of our Stonestown branch at the Bank Customer Experience Summit in North Carolina this week. This award reflects achievements in integrating technology, hardware, design, people and processes infused to demonstrate next generation banking. We couldn’t have done this without all of the hard work, support, and dedication from our team. If you haven’t stopped by the branch since its reopening earlier this year, we’ll hope you’ll come by and see us. #bcxsummit #branchofthefuture #innovation #creditunions #dbsi

Our CEO, Kathy Duvall, had the honor of serving as the honorary judge at this year’s San Francisco Fire Department Local 798 Johnny V. Chili Cook-off! 🍲🔥 Congratulations to Station 51 for taking home the top prize! This exciting event kicks off the season for the SF Firefighters Toy Program, a beloved tradition that brings holiday joy to children in need across San Francisco. You can support the Toy Program by attending the upcoming Charity Basketball Tournament at Kezar Pavilion on September 21 or the Golf Tournament at Crystal Springs on October 18. If you can’t attend, you can still contribute by donating directly at sffirefighterstoys.org. Join us in supporting our firefighters and spreading holiday cheer to families in need! #SFFireCU #SFFD #ToyProgram
I had a blast last weekend judging the San Francisco Fire Department Local 798 Annual Johnny V. Chili Cook-off on the Marina Green with my friends and fellow judges Nicole Keshishian Modic, JD, David Lombardi and Paul Tonelli of 107.7 The Bone. This is the first of many events leading up to the annual SF Firefighters Toy Program kickoff in San Francisco. Attendance doubled from last year, and it was great to see so many in our community come out to enjoy a beautiful afternoon and taste some great chili from more than 20 stations around the city. Thanks to SF Fire Credit Union staff Josephine Chew, Whitney Hayes and board member Bob Cappa for joining in on the fun. Congrats to Station 51 for taking home the top prize for best chili. Upcoming events in support of the Toy Program include the Local 798 Charity Basketball Tournament at Kezar Pavilion on September 21, and the SF Firefighters Toy Program Golf Tournament at Crystal Springs Golf Course on October 18. Hope to see you there!
