  • 🚨PLEASE SHARE🚨 If you’ve been impacted by Hurricane Helene or Milton in Florida, the American Red Cross is here to help you recover. The Red Cross is currently reaching out to hurricane survivors to discuss their eligibility for financial assistance. If you received a message or call from a Red Cross representative, please follow the steps outlined in that message. If you did not receive a message, but your home experienced major damage or was destroyed, please visit https://lnkd.in/eyk-ttAn to check your eligibility for financial assistance. Please be aware of scams or people posing as Red Cross representatives. You will receive an invitation via email and text based on the contact information the Red Cross has for you. If you’re unsure whether the Red Cross has reached out, please call 1-800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767). Assistance from the American Red Cross is not considered a duplication of benefits for insurance or a government agency. The Red Cross is only part of the solution to recovery and FEMA approval is not required to be eligible for Red Cross financial assistance.

  • ⏰ It's that time of year again - time to Sound the Alarm! ⏰ Every day, seven people die in home fires, most often in homes without working smoke alarms. That’s why the American Red Cross launched our Home Fire Campaign in 2014 to save lives. Sound the Alarm is a critical part of the campaign. Through our home visits, we’ve installed more than 2.5 million free smoke alarms and made more than 1 million households safer across the country. We're rallying volunteers to install free smoke alarms nationwide, as part of our Sound the Alarm events. This year we’ll install free smoke alarms, create escape plans and share fire safety information. 🚨 To get involved, visit soundthealarm.org

  • Does anyone recognize these familiar faces? 🤗 Our very own Dariana Molina and Johan Reyes are hard at work in Los Angeles, supporting the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region with their wildfire relief efforts. Dariana is assisting the Public Affairs team while Johan is working with Mass Care to assist feeding. Dariana and Johan have both been busy, out in the field and interacting with residents affected by the devastating wildfires and they have provided families with comfort and care (and meals!). If you're ready to roll up your sleeve and become a volunteer, visit redcross.org/SFLvolunteer

  • Emergency shelters are still open across Southern California for families who were displaced by the wildfires. Our shelters are open to anyone who has been affected and you’re welcome to stop by for a warm meal or snack, to charge your devices or to get access to essential support and recovery services. We also have licensed health professionals volunteering their time to care for minor injuries and helping to replace things like eyeglasses and medications. To find shelter locations near you, visit redcross.org or download the free Red Cross emergency app.

  • Weeks after the wildfires broke out in Southern California, residents are finally returning to their homes. At a distribution site near the Santa Monica Pier, Red Cross volunteers provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies such as masks, work gloves, safety suits, cleaning wipes, and water, as well as information on other services available to people who had evacuated. Families are still depending on the Red Cross for assistance, and we need your support. To help people affected by wildfires in California in 2025 visit redcross.org, or text the word CAWILDFIRES to 90999 to make a donation. Your donation enables the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from these disasters.

  • Today, we want to take a moment to highlight Veronica Block, one of our beloved South Florida volunteers that raised their hand to assist with the Southern California wildfires. Veronica is from our Palm Beach and Treasure Coast Chapter and selflessly answered the call to support disaster relief efforts in the Los Angeles area. She has deployed with our Mass Care team to assist with sheltering, as residents are still replaced and need a safe place to stay. As wildfires continue to devastate communities, Veronica has deployed to the front lines to provide critical aid and support to those affected. Let's give Veronica and all the other volunteers that stepped in to support! 👏

  • This weekend, over 200 people joined us for CPR Day Miami to learn lifesaving CPR skills! Fifty people received a certification in full CPR and 156 people were trained in hands-only CPR at Ponce de Leon Middle School. A huge THANK YOU to Jackson Health System, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and the American Heart Association for teaming up with us to make this event possible. Together, we’re building a stronger community that feels empowered and confident to act in an emergency and help save lives. It’s never too late to learn essential lifesaving skills. Visit redcross.org/takeaclass to find out about getting trained today.
