In what feels like the blink of an eye, we’ve added 100 more permanent careers to our last milestone, bringing us to a total of 1,413 permanent careers created for unemployed and excluded youth. Together with our like-hearted partners we are co-creating meaningful career pathways for young individuals who, in the past, may never have had the chance at permanent employment. Every day we witness the power of giving access to both personal and professional skills. Seeing the excitement and determination in these young people, as they seize the opportunities before them, is nothing short of inspiring. We’re proud to share that we’ve now facilitated over 1,400 permanent careers within the GBS sector, and this number continues to grow thanks to the support of our followers and like-hearted partners. Every follower represents a step forward in our mission to address the pressing challenge of youth unemployment, which exceeds 45% in South Africa. When given access to skills development and opportunities, they showcase unmatched dedication and commitment. Their journey is a testament to their heart, striving not only to prove themselves but also to create a sustainable and worthy future. We are immensely proud of our former students for their relentless pursuit of excellence and for keeping their promise to themselves. Their success story fuels our belief in the transformative power of the Shadow Careers programme, awakening potential and fostering belief in the capabilities of South African youth. Which once was difficult for many to imagine how in just 12 weeks, a thriving candidate could be developed to perform at the same level, if not better, than experienced staff.
