Check out this inspiring excerpt from one of our latest editions: "It was the spring of 2022. I was finalizing the first sponsor deck for SheFi. And I was crying. Confused, Jon asked me why I was so upset. After sorting through a thousand different emotions, I finally realized that these tears were coming from a very specific place: A fear of rejection. Asking for money to support your vision is terrifying. There’s the uncertainty of its success, the worry of asking for too much or too little, and, of course, the potential for complete rejection after pitching your life’s work to a potential sponsor. The thought of rejection was almost too much to bear. Wiping the tears away from my eyes, I did it scared. I hit send. And I kept hitting send, on countless emails, day after day, facing my fear of rejection head-on. If I was lucky, I would get one positive response back. The response wouldn’t always turn into a sponsorship — sometimes it’d be a conversation that would improve the value proposition or the structure of the deck. I was rejected. And rejected. But I kept going. Sure enough, after a little bit of time, rejection hurt less and less. I probably sent over 100 emails to potential sponsors for Season 7. I knew someone out there had to believe in our mission. I hoped that if I just kept trying, everything would fall into place. Finally, to my surprise, a sponsor said yes. I felt immense relief — there was a path forward for SheFi. Since 2022, we’ve worked with over 20 of the most prominent names in crypto. These amazing partners are values-aligned, making it possible to achieve our mission of bringing 4 billion women onchain. The truth I had to get comfortable with was that no one was going to notice SheFi and offer me money. I had to learn how to ask for it, accept rejection, never give up hope, and most importantly, learn how to persist, hitting send through the tears. It only takes one 'yes' to change everything." New SheFi team members alert! 💫 We are happy to highlight two new full-time members of the SheFi team: Head of Social Stef Luthin and Chief of Staff Ela Passarelli! This growth shows our commitment to making SheFi the best it can be, ensuring a feminine frontier. 💕 Graduating from Northwestern with a psychology, film, and marketing degree, Stef’s first role out of school was a production assistant for the startup Supernow. With over 6 years of social under her belt, she transitioned into a full-time social role at an up-and-coming pet toy company until discovering and falling in love with the SheFi mission. The rest is history! She is beyond excited to contribute her love of storytelling and her vast knowledge of the social space to SheFi, making sure that women and non-binary folks keep getting access to the future of tech! Ela's introduction to the tech world began in high school, where she learned to code through a nonprofit women's summer program. She graduated with a BFA in film from the University of Southern California. Her films have been showcased in over 25 film festivals worldwide, culminating in a Cannes Film Festival screening and a Student Academy Award. During her time in LA, Ela became intrigued by the NFT craze and soon recognized Web3’s potential to address challenges in creative industries today. When Ela’s creative endeavors led to a role working as a content lead for a Web3 startup, she met Maggie at a women’s tech week event. Ela fell in love with SheFi’s mission, joined Cohort 11, and soon after jumped at the chance to work with the team. She is so excited to be a part of SheFi and empower even more women to join the Web3 movement. Let's give Stefanie (Stef) Luthin and Ela Passarelli a warm welcome! 👏
