The federal expansion of the #ChildTaxCredit changed countless lives, providing families with the resources to cover essentials and helping working parents find more stability. Now, it’s time to fight for the renewal of these expansions. But that’s not all—Connecticut needs its own state-supported Child Tax Credit to further support families and create lasting change. Ready to make an impact? Sign the petition to advocate for key issues like the Connecticut #ChildTaxCredit in the upcoming legislative session. 💜 🌟 ctunitedway.org/petition/

From 2019 to 2021, the poverty rate for American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) children dropped by 40%—thanks to the temporary expansion of the federal #ChildTaxCredit (#CTC). During this time, 87,000 AIAN children were lifted out of poverty. But in 2022, when the federal CTC expansion ended, poverty rates surged again, reaching above pre-pandemic levels, leaving many families worse off. We can’t let this continue. Policies like the CTC are crucial for lifting Indigenous families (and all families) out of poverty, and Connecticut should have a state CTC too. 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼 Source: Economic Policy Institute heyor.ca/6fYAiw

Latina women earn just 51 cents for "all earners" (full-time, year-round + part-time and part-year) and 58 cents for full-time, year-round workers for every dollar earned by white men—barely more than half. The current compensation gap is not only unjust, but it also pushes many Latinas into economic hardships. This stark disparity highlights the urgent need for policies and initiatives that promote pay equity. We all have a role to play in addressing this issue. Together, we can advocate for change and work towards a more just and equitable future. https://lnkd.in/eURJSYKC #LatinaEqualPayDay #PayEquity #FairWages #Trabajadoras
