Shell Egg Academy is a learning experience and education opportunity for the egg production and processing industries.
About us
Shell Egg is a unique and targeted learning experience and education opportunity in partnership with Purdue University for the egg production and processing industries. Through a combination of interactive classroom experiences taught by expert speakers, and hands-on learning, participants are provided the latest information on egg quality and egg safety. SEA plans a virtual "Eggs 101" academy in the spring of each year. Virtual SEA is aimed at egg company employees who work in egg barns or at the processing plants. They are typically newer to the industry and need an in-depth look at how eggs are produced as well as processed and how everyone works together in tandem with regulatory agencies to ensure a safe egg supply. They may also have potential to move up into the management ranks within the company so this type of education and connection is really important. Egg companies send employees to the virtual event get an “Eggs 101” experience and learning opportunity. The in-person SEA in late September/early October is a deeper dive into egg quality and egg food safety and is aimed at management / upper management of the egg companies. There are presentations from academia, egg industry, and regulatory experts, hands-on tours and experiences, and plenty of networking time as well.

We’re so excited to add a component on The Six Types of Working Genius with Kacee Bohle to Shell Egg Academy this week. This assessment helps our participants learn more about their strengths (or “geniuses”) along with the things that cause them frustration.

We kicked things off today with Brian Fretwell of Finding Good. His highly engaging session is energizing our participants to really think about how they communicate with each other and how they can bring more clarity to their conversations, both at home and at work.
