    We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Products Buyer to join our team in Osseo, MN! POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for establishing relationships with manufacturers and distributors with the goal of securing competitive quotes for purchasing and maximizing profits. Tracking orders and managing shipping logistics. Working with salespeople to develop continuity and be able to troubleshoot and solve various jobsite issues quickly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Responsible for purchasing and overseeing all specialty products, including hardware, decking, gypsum, siding, etc. · Negotiate contracts with vendors ensuring quality products and competitive pricing. · Price bid lists at current market. · Work closely with traders to keep them up to date on developments as they occur. · Develop new sources of supply by educating vendors on the size, scope, and buying power of Shelter Products. · Develop a system by which day-to-day management of all jobs is possible. · Develop key relationships with the manufacturers and distributors of products that will provide the company with competitive advantages. · Set up price points based on geographical locations. · Review and approve claims, settlements, and returns. · Resolve quantity, quality, documentation, and other discrepancies associated with procurement with suppliers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of specialty buying experience in the building products industry required. Extensive product knowledge required; Siding and window knowledge preferred. Skills · Detail oriented. · Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people. · Strong written, verbal, analytical, negotiating, and interpersonal skills. · Strong math aptitude and displays exceptional math skills. · Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. · Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems. · Must be self-motivated and accountable. · Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn proprietary software quickly. · Must be capable of working independently and as part of a team. · Must be able to assert oneself in an effective manner. · Ability to travel as required.
