“One way that (housing) is playing out is that the presidential candidates are talking about it. It’s not something that they’ve talked about so directly and so consistently.” —Marisol Bello, Executive Director of Housing Narrative Lab. “The thing that has struck me so much about this election is how really for the first time in recent memory housing is a top issue, for voters, for everyone, because we’re seeing so many of us that are just struggling to keep a roof over our heads. Rent is really high for so many people that are renters. So, people are having to make deep choices about paying the rent and how they are going to pay for all the other bills are growing for all of us. And for homeowners we know that it’s harder and harder for people to buy that starter home or for people that already have a home to move to other places because the housing market is so tight and hard right now. So because of all these cascading elements, housing become a top-tier voting issue.” —Marisol Bello, Executive Director of Housing Narrative Lab Watch the replay: https://lnkd.in/ec3D5CMt #Election2024 #ShelterforceInDialogue #HousingJustice
