This is achieved by moulding HTV silicone directly onto the triple point and overlapping part of the metal end fittings to fully enclose and protect the sensitive triple junction zone where the metal end fitting, core rod, and silicone housing meet. The HTV silicone housing has excellent bonding and adherence to the end fittings, providing safe protection for the fibreglass rod against water or contamination. This eliminates the need for traditional sealing devices, which are typically weaker. However, line post insulators have limited vertical loading capabilities, which means they can't support longer spans or heavier conductor systems. Composite braced line posts are designed for similar applications as line posts, but they include an added suspension 'brace' insulator to significantly increase the assembly's vertical load capacity.
