Join us at the Sheraton OKC this afternoon in the lobby Library Coffee & Co. from 4-6PM for root beer floats! All donations will be given to Children's Health Foundation, a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals 💛
As many of you know, my family’s roots are in root beer. That’s why National Root Beer Float Day is like a holiday for our teams at Marriott. My grandparents J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott opened a nine-seat A&W root beer stand in Washington, D.C. in 1927. It was a simple beginning – cold glasses of root beer on hot summer days. For a quick lesson on how to make the perfect root beer float, check out the video in the comments. It’s not just about the delicious, sweet treat. We use National Root Beer Float Day as a day to give back to our communities. Associates from our global headquarters and local hotels team up to scoop, pour, and collect donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) and our local Children's National Hospital. Marriott International was the first corporate partner of CMNH in 1983. Throughout our more than 40-year partnership, Marriott has donated over $155 million to local children’s hospitals in 170 cities across the U.S. and Canada – from Miami to Vancouver—and all funds raised stay in the community where the donation was made. Thanks to all associates and hotel teams who are holding events today to proudly support Children’s Hospitals’ important mission to change kids’ health and change the future.
