SHINE exists to Serve, Heal, Inspire, Nurture and Empower vulnerable children, both domestically and internationally, who are transitioning from foster and orphan care or impoverished environments through education and skills development and consistent emotional support.

We at @shineforyourfuture are so thankful to the Seneca Elks Lodge for believing in our mission supporting youth aging out of foster care so much that they presented us with our first grant! The Elk’s lodge mission is to support community and no better way to do that than showing these youth together we all believe in them and want provide opportunities that will prepare them for a stable, productive and a happy future! Thankful to God!
Possible Selves. These amazing young adults produced a documentary on the reality of foster care and aging out. What they learned producing this documentary: "The most important lesson we have learned during this filmmaking process is that children need reliable, caring adults in their lives in order to grow into self-sufficient adults. The statistics are strong evidence that the foster care system is not meeting these needs and should be reformed. This film, however, focuses on the lived experience of real children and reveals how a stronger commitment to caring for them, even within a broken system, can dramatically improve their lives." SHINE for Your Future exists to help 18+ YO as they HAVE to make the transition into adulthood. We believe these young adults are at different levels based on their life while in foster care, the trauma they experienced and their view of self-worth. We are committed to ensuring they can confidently believe in themselves and have a happy productive future as a STRONG ADULT!
SHINE's Building a Bridge program is moving forward! Soon we will be mentoring youth who have aged out of foster care, building a bridge to a brighter future, as well as starting life skill workshops to strengthen their skills for independent living! We want to make a difference in the lives of youth who have been the forgotten. Join us a make a difference this year!
