Our innovative campaign combined the power of generative AI and the fun of selfies to create an interactive experience at industry meetings. An imaginative app helped more than 1,000 people see themselves as warriors in the fight against infectious diseases. War and conflict exacerbate the challenge of antimicrobial resistance (#AMR), posing a significant threat to global health.  Recently, Rolling Stone highlighted the devastating impact of AMR in conflict zones, where disrupted healthcare infrastructure accelerates the spread of drug-resistant infections. Experts are sounding the alarm, saying the risk is not limited to soldiers. As conflicts proliferate in all corners of the globe, doctors are increasingly worried that so-called “superbugs” are finding their way from the battlefield and spreading to civilian populations as injured Marines and refugees are evacuated from these areas to other countries for treatment.    As the article underscores, concerted public-private efforts are crucial to address this emerging global pandemic. To mitigate the AMR threat in the U.S., Shionogi is committed to developing new anti-infectives and supports proposed legislative initiatives such as the PASTEUR Act. The bill is essential to enable continued antimicrobial innovation and ensure that appropriate treatments are available to address AMR infections, including those caused by pathogens impacting military and civilian populations in war-torn regions such as Ukraine.    Let's unite to advocate for comprehensive strategies against AMR. Today we announced progress on the development program for our investigational drug for Fragile X syndrome (FXS), including recent protocol amendments to help improve trial accessibility for people with FXS and their families. Tetra Therapeutics, a Shionogi Group Company, is currently enrolling participants in clinical studies at 15 sites across the U.S. with more sites anticipated this year.
