If you think VTubers are a fad, you obviously weren't at DreamHack Melbourne on the weekend. Check out these stats: This is Hololive Productions, a collective made up of Japanese, Indonesian and English speaking VTubers who performed live for the first time in Australia. As of April 2024, there are 86 active Hololive-affiliated talents with over 84 million subscribers on YouTube, 41 of which have over 1 million subscribers each. This was my first VTuber concert and I had a blast. The atmosphere was as good as any other event. I was surprised but would go again in a heartbeat. This footage is of Kureiji Ollie, the Super Kawaii Zombie Idol. https://lnkd.in/g9JhRhaq If you are not aware, VTubers are not AI, they are real people singing, dancing, and performing the actions but their movements are displayed as a character rather than themselves. You cannot be a VTuber without some level of actual skill. Thanks to Dreamhack for bringing Hololive downunder for the first time, and I'm sure Katherine Grace (née Crea) 🕹️, Chris Smith and Kerrie Fulker would all agree Dreamhack just keeps getting better and better in Australia! #dreamhack #hololive #vtuber
