Our overall mission at Shriners Children's is to improve the lives of keiki in need, and a part of it is focused on offering educational opportunities to future healthcare professionals. One way we fulfill this part of our mission is through the First Lady Helen Lemieux Summer Internship Program, which offers two 4- or one 8-week rotation to medical, graduate-level nursing, or allied health care students and includes a $1,000 or $2,000 stipend. In this program, interns will be guided by a physician mentor and will have hands-on experience in the clinic and/or research environment. While interning at Shriners Children's Hawaii, we hope the experience will teach interns about the high quality of care that defines Shriners Children’s and potentially enhance their interest in pediatric health or specialized orthopedic care!
