The executive director of Sickle Forward, Dr. Alan Anderson, was recently traveling in Antigua and was struck by the inclusion of artwork from the Antigua and Barbuda Sickle Cell Association in this banner at the airport showcasing the importance promoting and protecting health just like any other human right. At Sickle Forward, we believe that all children have a right to diagnosis and basic treatment of sickle cell disease. We strive to advance access to rapid testing and life-saving medications in parts of the world where this has been severely limited in the past. As we celebrate World Sickle Cell Day on June 19th, may we all strive to "provide hope through progress by advancing care globally."
