  • The global market for digital twin technology is expected to grow from $10.1 billion in 2023 to $110.1 billion by 2028. Industrial manufacturing companies across sectors are beginning to utilize digital twins to optimize production, enable predictive maintenance and reduce design errors. Like simulations, digital twins are virtual, computer-generated versions of physical systems, such as an industrial robot, a manufacturing process, the complex layout of an automated storage and retrieval system, or even the inputs and nodes of a global supply chain. What distinguishes twins from simulations, however, is that digital twins incorporate real-time data from the physical systems and processes they emulate and often allow users to provide active feedback to those systems. This has brought an unprecedented increase in manufacturing capability across the board. Head over to the link in our comments for more information about industrial digital twins. #DigitalTwin #Simulation

  • Despite vast technological advances, food insecurity is one of our oldest problems as humans. 280 million go hungry each day while a third of the global produce is wasted. Our customer Blendhub is making food security a sustainable mission. Their goal is to transform food production and facilitate access to healthy, affordable and local products. BlendHub is working to resolve the supply-demand disconnect at the heart of the issue with digital twin technology and software-defined automation. By working from a modularized design contained within a 40-foot shipping container, they can reduce their cost overhead and complexity to deliver food reliably to those in need. The modularity and agility BlendHub can achieve is possible because they start to define and optimize the systems they need in the virtual world. Their work in the digital world has also brought down the deployment time for their micro-factories. Check out the full story via the link in our comments. #Sustainability #DigitalTwin #Automation

  • Recognizing World Heart Day with a heartfelt simulation designed with Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 💓 Our simulation illustrates artificial trileaflet heart valves opening and closing, pumping blood through the heart. STAR-CCM+ is ideal for creating accurate Fluid-Structure-Interaction simulations, aiding engineers in the design of safer, longer lasting prosthetic heart valves. Why? • The heart valves play a crucial role in the cardiovascular system ensuring proper blood flow. • Valvular Heart Disease affects 2.5% of the US population, damaging the heart's valves. • Globally, approximately 250,000 prosthetic heart valves are implanted each year. #WorldHeartDay #HeartValve #Simulation

  • Cold brew coffee, cookies, cupcakes, craft beer and cola—not just the grocery list for a fun afternoon with friends. These are also beacons of smart manufacturing; revolutionizing the food and beverage industry. But, beyond the buzzword, what really is smart manufacturing? And why should it matter to you? It all comes down to flexibility. Trends shift quickly and consumer demands are more unpredictable than ever. Whether it’s a sudden craze for a new flavor of craft beer or a spike in demand for a healthier cola option, the ability to pivot quickly can make or break a business. Smart manufacturing is driving this need for flexibility through the use of automation and digitalization. But what about sustainability? Sustainability is the greatest challenge of our time. Smart manufacturing, with its emphasis on automation and digitalization, plays a crucial role in achieving sustainability goals. Automation streamlines processes, reducing energy use and waste, while digitalization provides the data-driven insights needed to optimize resource management. #SmartManufacturing #Sustainability #Digitalization

  • The right quote is an offer a business can’t refuse. Here’s how BENTELER Group optimized their quote calculation process… BENTELER produces components and modules for automotive chassis, body, engine and exhaust systems. Recently, BENTELER implemented a product cost management tool to calculate costs and carbon footprints. BENTELER is now able to project costs and determine the best conditions for comprehensively evaluating the opportunities and risks of long-term delivery agreements or new investments using the tool Teamcenter. Thomas Kossak, Controller Specialist at BENTELER Automotive Components shared: “Using Teamcenter product cost management optimizes our quotation calculation processes, so we reduced quoting time by 40 percent. [...] We can leverage Teamcenter to analyze the impact as a trade-off between the CO2 footprint, profit margin and customer value.” #Automotive #ProductCostManagement

Many people ask what the view looks like at our 100,000-foot apogee. From this height, Explorers will be able to see the thin blue line of the Earth’s atmosphere. More commonly referred to as the “Overview Effect” by authors and astronauts, we call it “The Space Perspective. This shot was captured looking out from Spaceship Neptune-Excelsior during our recent test flight. You can see the side of the capsule as well as the Earth. This view spans on endlessly and reminds us of the fragility and beauty of our planet. Our capsule is gently propelled to the edge of space by our SpaceBalloon™ at 12mph (~19.3 kph), giving Explorers two hours to soak in the view while at apogee. Inside the capsule, there is freedom to move around and take in 360° views from the largest windows flown to space, enjoy a drink, or take a moment to yourself in the Space Spa. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #innovation #design #beyond #pioneer #milestone #luxury
