UPS' 2025 GRI is out! 🚨 (Well... kinda.) UPS announced a 5.9% average increase like FedEx, but haven't released full details of individual rates by service, weight, and zone, as well as accessorial increases. They HAVE shared some changes to how certain accessorials are triggered (shocker). Important note: Some of these changes are taking effect this year, as early as October 21, and the "2025" base rate increases will actually begin on December 23. UPS hasn't set a date when the full rate details will be released, but Sifted will keep you updated.

Let’s talk about the 2025 FedEx GRI. 📈 The 5.9% general rate increase is just that - general! Running with a “5.9% increase” for budgeting won’t be accurate. For instance, with FedEx, to ship a one-pound package via ground, you could incur base transportation costs, plus:    1) A residential surcharge ➡️ 7.2% higher in 2025 2) A dimensional weight charge ➡️ higher than your actual weight charge 3) A delivery area surcharge ➡️ 8.8% higher in 2024   The good news: It’s not too late to ease the blow of these increases.
