Very proud to share that our Georgia Tech MS&E student design team, consisting of Katie Cauffiel, Téa Cook, Ryan Cortes, Arian Patel, and Evan Wilson, won the award for best overall MS&E project at yesterday's Design Expo! Their project on printable lignin-filled natural rubber was truly remarkable. Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved win! #GTMSE #silpara #greentire #patentpending

Silpara Molecular Composite (SMC) analyzed with transmission electron microscopy. This image shows continuous interpenetrating networks of natural rubber (light) and silica (dark). In typical silica-filled rubber, the silica shows as discrete aggregates, not a continuous phase. Continuous nano-scale reinforcements mean better properties.
