Rodney Brooks announces his 3 laws of robotics at Robo Buisness. Law Two really resonates with me. Paraphrasing: when robots fail, and they will, they can’t get in the way of the humans around them. Robots can enhance our lives, and they have the potential to be a major hassle. As practitioners, we have an obligation to make sure they’re not a detriment to users and those that have to live and work near them.

Hi everyone! Simplexity recently posted a whitepaper I have been working on that has been helpful for a number of different projects: Think of cases where you need to apply the same sequence of tasks over and over again. These could be tasks that you want a robot to do, or just familiar tasks like making mashed potatoes. In the paper, I discuss some ways to visualize the schedule and bottlenecks, analyze a schedule for resource conflicts, and improve the efficiency of these tasks. Hope you enjoy! https://lnkd.in/e-VCEWew

For those of you curious about robotics market trends and what occurred at the ARM Institute's annual meeting last week, I've written a blog post with some key insights and takeaways. Thanks to Ira Moskowitz, Jay Douglass, Amanda Danzuso, Livia Rice, Matt Rosenberger, and the rest of the ARM team for putting on an informative event! Also a big shout out to Alex Shikany from A3 - Association for Advancing Automation for the market intelligence report (I shared one of his slides in my post). There were too many great companies to list them all, but keep an eye on HaptX Inc., Seamly, Apparel Robotics, ThoughtForge AI, and Altitude AI to see the innovations they're creating.
