  • It’s the first #TeacherTuesday of the month, and we are so delighted to continue our teacher recognitions with a spotlight of Tammy Sanford! Ms. Sanford is a music teacher at Magee Elementary School, teaching students in kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition to teaching music, Ms. Sanford is also the director of the Magee Elementary School Show Choir, which has been awarded many accolades while under her leadership. When asked how does she help our students believe, achieve and succeed, she stated: “I believe that every child has the potential to do their very best, and I strive to instill this in all of my students. I think we, as educators, should teach with the energy and enthusiasm that we want our students to show in their learning. Positive energy is contagious and if our students know we believe in them, they will put forth their best effort to believe, achieve, and succeed everyday.” Thank you, Ms. Sanford, for everything you to do to ensure our students “Believe, Achieve, Succeed – Every Day!” #WeAreSimpson #BelieveAchieveSucceed #TeacherTuesday

  • Do you know what today is? It’s #TeacherTuesday, and we are so delighted to spotlight Alicia Magee! A second-grade teacher at Mendenhall Elementary School, Ms. Magee began her teaching career with SCSD more than 20 years ago. Since 2001, she has touched the lives of many students, having taught first, second, fourth and fifth grades. When asked how does she help our students believe, achieve and succeed, she stated: “Each day always brings a new adventure within the classroom! I have always had a passion for teaching and watching my students grow. I try to create both a fun and learning environment for my students each day. I believe that establishing a positive and trusting environment in the classroom shows the students that I am here to help them learn but also help them be the best version of themselves that they can be.” Thank you, Ms. Magee, for all that you to do to ensure our students “Believe, Achieve, Succeed – Every Day!” #WeAreSimpson #BelieveAchieveSucceed #TeacherTuesday

  • Congratulations to Simpson County School District educator Romonica Feazell for earning her doctoral degree in educational leadership from William Carey University!   Dr. Feazell, alternative education coordinator for Simpson County Achievement Center, began working on her degree nearly three years ago in an effort to advance her professional career. According to Feazell, you have to be willing to constantly grow in your craft, and you achieve that by researching and learning best practices. With her new degree, she hopes to provide effective support for faculty, staff, students and parents in the educational arena.   When asked what this accomplishment meant to her, she stated: “Through this accomplishment, I hope other students from Simpson County can see that they too can obtain the goals that they set for themselves. Working hard and relying on God for guidance will always give you a desired outcome.”   #WeAreSimpson #BelieveAchieveSucceed #PortraitofaGraduate
