Being humanity centered when developing technology provides a more sustainable and equitable future for everyone.

When human purpose guides the development of technology, AI has the potential to not only meet our needs, but elevate our lives - creating a future that is sustainable, progressive, and deeply rooted in human connection. PJMF President Vilas Dhar will be a featured speaker at the upcoming NationSwell Summit, where social impact leaders will explore promising and innovative approaches to building technology that reflects our core human values. By grounding innovations in the human experience, we can ensure that technology bridges us to living fully, authentically, and with purpose. So here is the thing, folks. Here's where the gloves come off. Here is where you learn that when it comes to AI (like Arctic, Snowflake's model), it's all the same tech, and all these breaches come from one source. Because Snowflake serves how many large organizations? May have been behind at least Ticketmaster and maybe others. And how does this line up with who uses which vendors for what? I'm pretty sure there are patterns here. I'm pretty sure that this is going to get really damn interesting. And hopefully, this is the end of SaaS and "platform-as-a-service," the way it's been allowed to take over and dominate. It's proving itself too much risk and not enough financial success (except for the vendors and the procurement people in enterprise making the deals). There is the issue of monopolistic action, but then there is the issue of monopolistic tech. Tools that make monopolies inevitable. Backdoor business deals that make the competition a joke. He who gets the most data wins. I'm rooting for the blonde one who rides dragons. Oh, wait. I'm confusing something else with what's going on in Tech. Anyway. I don't even want to start talking about what is happening to election news on Google and social platforms. We are in another dimension right now. It feels almost like an alternate universe. I'd like to fast-forward to this time in 2025. I predict the world is going to be a radically different place. However. In the meantime. The Snowflake breach is huge. https://lnkd.in/e39sqXZt #cybersecurity

Steve Jobs didn't hate "user research" as it really hadn't even arrived at the time he was designing. He didn't like traditional customer and market research, which unfortunately is the kind of work most enterprises force their overqualified research teams to do now. What he liked? Ethnographic, anthropologic, and psychological research. Getting inside the customer's head. Human research. Generative research, not evaluative. #userresearch

If the ux designers and researchers want to understand why there’s been friction to work they do and why there’s been an extreme effort to automate interface design, toolkits, personas and even coding, it comes down to the opinions expressed in this article. There are literally colleagues, work associates, supervisors, and clients who in some way, form or fashion, aren’t seeing the value of research. Even teams within companies that have mature research functions, it’s often a checkbox that’s given out and product teams often do much of their work in a preconceived fashion. Some product people are so good at this, they have a knack of retroactively tying back their preconceived ideas to research “factoids”. Rarely do we have companies able to run businesses that cannot only sell the findings of a well researched topic but there aren’t enough people trained to actually implement research properly. After the research is delivered, they may never see the conclusion of the project. Then product teams fail to understand the research, looking at it more of a mandate than a guide of understanding that in informative than restrictive. If memory serves me correctly, Steve hated a lot of things.
